?? I am not sure I like this... "The HDMI Forum just announced the HDMI Ultra96 cable with support for 12K at 120Hz." Sounds impressive, right? But... here’s the thing: in 2025, point-to-point systems like HDMI feel like a dinosaur in a world moving toward networked AV. HDMI Ambassadors, please help me see the pros, as I can only see cons: - Tech Waste: Every new HDMI standard means rewiring systems, tossing legacy tech into landfills. Do we really need 12K? Unless you live in a screen aquarium, it’s overkill. - Cables in 2025? Why are we still investing in single-room cabling when wireless and AVoIP are the future? VR users tethered to a cable? No thanks. - Limited Control: HDMI ties you to physical connections, while AVoIP offers remote management, scalability, and flexibility. - Specs Over Innovation: Higher resolution is nice, but what we need is better integration and control. Beyond 4K, the returns are marginal. The future of AV isn’t in flashy new cables; it’s in scalable, sustainable, networked solutions. AVoIP delivers flexibility, remote control, and efficiency—everything HDMI struggles to match. HDMI Ultra96 might shine on paper, but it’s time to embrace a future that actually moves the industry forward. Let’s focus on what really matters: control, scalability, and sustainability.
