"As part of the #WHY15 campaign, Nonprofit New York celebrates a?$58 million restoration to city libraries, allowing them to serve their communities on Sundays, and a number of cultural institutions were relieved to find themselves back at baseline budget levels." "It is important to note that too many nonprofits and agencies did not see crucial funding restored. Some of these nonprofits will be forced to close their doors because their organizational needs were zeroed out of the recently approved budget. Nonprofits supporting the parks and open spaces - places that are crucial to public health and safety -?are forced, once again, to confront the challenges created by a consistent lack of investment and funding." Hey, fam! I have great news! ?? The Department of General Services (DGS) has released an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the State of California Community Outreach and Education Services Master Service Agreement (MSA). DGS and OCPSC have been collaborating on this MSA since the fall of 2022, and once executed will create the state’s first MSA specifically for community-based nonprofits. This opportunity is one way the State will look to partner with community-based nonprofit organizations in the coming years. OCPSC encourages interested parties to submit a bid.?? This MSA will be a multiple-award agreement that will create a list of pre-approved community-based nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status that California state and local governmental agencies can contract with on outreach and engagement projects. The goal of the MSA is to create contracting efficiencies for the state and nonprofits when partnering. Any community-based nonprofit is encouraged to submit a bid. The IFB event package can be found here: https://buff.ly/3yG0IMV Go for it! #OCPSC #Funding #Nonprofits #CBO #CallForBids

The moment is here for #philanthropy to become nimble and put into practice the many conversations about being more grantee-centered - moving from theory --> practice is vital to the survival of the #U.S. #nonprofit sector.
VP of Influence at Candid | Advancing our collective impact across the social sector through thought leadership, strategic coalitions, and campaigns
The pause in federal funding is going to have horrific impacts. Almost a third of U.S. nonprofits rely on government funding. This will impact vital services for communities, payroll for nonprofit staff, and so much more. I hope that foundations will respond to this moment with drastically expanded giving budgets, sourcing new nonprofits to fund, expedited grant approval timelines, and unrestricted support.
