????? $15M AZ INTERSTATE PROJECT ????? A recent $15 million federal grant, awarded to Bernalillo County, which encompasses Albuquerque, along with other partners to complete infrastructure improvements along I-40, could drive more private, transportation-related investment throughout New Mexico and Arizona. The?U.S. Department of Transportation?awarded the county a $15 million grant through its Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity, or RAISE, program in early July. Funding for the federal program comes through the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Those grant dollars will support the I-40 Tradeport Corridor, or I40TPC, a public-private development project to build out more sustainable transportation infrastructure along an 805-mile stretch of Interstate 40 from the Port of Los Angeles to Albuquerque. Partners in I40TPC include Bernalillo County, the project's public sector coordinator and fiscal agent, Sandoval County and the Village of Los Lunas in New Mexico, the cities of Winslow and Kingman in Arizona, the states of New Mexico and Arizona and several education institutions in the two states including the?University of New Mexico?and Mohave Community College. This new $15 million federal grant will help advance those infrastructure planning efforts, including at specific "hub" locations and across the broader interstate network, said Carolyn Tobias, economic development manager for Bernalillo County. #federalgrant #infrastructure #arizona #newmexico #dot #ericcook

$607M in US DOT grants available for reconnecting communities "The 2021 infrastructure law established the $1 billion discretionary grant Reconnecting Communities Pilot program. The program is designed to improve residents’ access to jobs, education, healthcare, food, nature and recreation, with priority given to projects that benefit disadvantaged communities. Previous grants?have gone to capping over part of the Kensington Expressway in Buffalo, New York; planning for a park to deck over a highway in Boston’s Chinatown neighborhood; and performing preliminary engineering analysis to expand access and transit among neighborhoods in Bluefield, West Virginia. “Through President Biden’s infrastructure law, we’re addressing infrastructure choices of the past and making sure that our transportation investments serve to connect, rather than divide, people and communities across the country,” Buttigieg said in a statement." The funding available in this round includes allocations from fiscal years 2024 through 2026, the final year of the infrastructure law. According to the DOT, last year’s program was “oversubscribed and highly competitive.” Learn more at the link below! #mygovus #buildingbettercommunities #governmentsoftwaresolutions

As Arizona Goes through its unbelievable growth we give credit to the Arizona dept of Transportation for putting out its 25-year growth plan showing the need to partner with the private sector on Institutional Infrastructure opportunities via P3s and or privatization of mega projects to help make up the 162.3 billion dollar shortfall. This is what we at the CABC call "Project FDI" Canadian Infrastructure Investment into Arizona. Next, the State of Arizona needs to do a 25-year Water plan like the above transportation plan showing the financial shortfall so we in the private sector can help.

In addition to its Truck Parking study, the Pennsylvania State Transportation Advisory Committee and the State Transportation Commission approved the final report for its study on "Addressing Municipal Challenges to Participating in Competitive Transportation Grant Programs" (also referred to as "Local Match Challenges"). With the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a significant share of federal transportation funding is tied into discretionary grant programs. Pennsylvania also has several state grant programs to improve and enhance the state's transportation network. Localities vary on a wide range of factors - one being the ability to apply and secure grant funds for transportation projects. As a state with over 2,500 municipalities and 67 counties, the TAC's report takes a comprehensive look at the challenges associated with discretionary programs from the perspectives of both state and local government. It recommends best practices and possible solutions to overcome these barriers. Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers approved $174M in funding for over 1,000 transportation projects throughout the state, with an additional $100M for county truck highway improvements, town road improvements, and municipal street improvements. These projects will be funded through the Local Roads Improvement Program over the next 5 years and will help with local communities' infrastructure - rural and urban - to meet the demands of the 21st century. On top of the state-funded program, $200M in federal funds will be used in over 150 federal-aid-eligible highway projects. How much of an impact will this have on the Wisconsin infrastructure?

Our industry is highlighted today in detailed poll results illustrating the need for investment in infrastructure now. I had a great conversation with Bryan Sears from Maryland Matters, discussing the latest Gonzales poll results. I shared that infrastructure spending isn’t just about roads, bridges, or transit; it’s about improving lives, safeguarding livelihoods, and enriching the quality of life for every Marylander. This poll, commissioned by the?Maryland Transportation Builders & Materials Association?and?Together For Transportation Funding, reveals that 55% of Marylanders are willing to pay higher taxes to improve the state’s transportation infrastructure, including safer roads, reduced congestion, and enhanced transit options. Key Findings: ? 71% support replacing the American Legion Bridge and adding express lanes to I-270. ? 71% back increased funding to address Maryland’s $3.3 billion backlog of outdated infrastructure. ? Support is strongest among Democrats, women, Black voters, and residents of Baltimore City and the Washington suburbs. With public support at an all-time high, the moment for generational investment in Maryland’s infrastructure is now! #Transportation #Maryland #Infrastructure #PublicSupport #MTBMA

Today marks the fourth year of funding under the #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw, with an investment of $62 billion for 12 formula programs that invest in the nation’s infrastructure! This funding is crucial for building roads, bridges, and tunnel projects across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico — helping states chip away at infrastructure needs and creating good-paying jobs. “With over 60,000 projects funded through our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we continue to deliver generational investments to prepare American infrastructure for the half-century ahead,” said U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “The $62 billion the Biden-Harris administration announced today will help states and communities continue to rebuild roads and bridges, implement new and innovative transportation solutions, strengthen our supply chains, and create good-paying jobs nationwide.” “These investments keep Americans safer, promote efficiency, advance our climate goals, and spur technological innovation. This funding also creates good paying, high-skilled jobs and help to reconnect communities, improving the lives of every American,” said Acting Federal Highway Administrator Kristin White. The network of roads in the U.S. is expansive – but it was built decades ago. And roads aren't the only areas of the nation's #infrastructure we all rely on. The U.S. is making a huge investment in improvements. But what can we expect? The Monitor's economics writer Laurent Belsie explores how states, large and small, will be impacted by the billions flowing from the federal government. For small states like Rhode Island, these funds are paying for 80% of five major projects. For states like New York and California, the boost from the government pays for roughly 20% of projects. #governmentspending #highways #trendingtopics https://lnkd.in/e2QQMYpc
