Pride Month is essential as it provides a dedicated time for communities around the world to celebrate and honor the diversity of the LGBTIQ+ community. It serves as a platform for raising awareness about the challenges and discrimination faced by individuals based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. The purpose of Pride Month is to promote inclusivity, equality, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The vision of Pride Month is to create a world where everyone can live authentically and openly without fear of discrimination or persecution. It aims to foster a society that embraces diversity and recognizes the inherent value of every individual. Yet, tanding in solidarity with the LGBTIQ+ community during Pride Month, individuals can help advance the cause of equal rights and fair treatment for all. This day reminds us of the importance of combating all forms of discrimination that affect the LGBTQIA+ community, promoting an environment where everyone can live freely and without fear. LGBTphobia remains a serious problem in many places, manifesting itself through violence, exclusion and prejudice. As we celebrate this date, we reinforce the need for concrete actions to protect the rights and dignity of LGBTQIA+ people. Every gesture of support, every word of encouragement and every action of inclusion makes a significant difference in the lives of many. In the past few years, we’ve seen both remarkable progress and concerning setbacks when it comes to the rights of transgender individuals. As a society, we are still navigating the complexities of gender identity, acceptance, and inclusivity. For me, this issue is deeply personal—my own child is transgender. She is wonderful, funny, kind, beautiful and so damn smart. Witnessing her journey has reinforced my commitment to fostering understanding and creating spaces that are welcoming for everyone, no matter their gender identity. As we move forward, it’s essential to not only listen to the voices of the transgender community but also actively engage in learning and advocacy. One powerful way to do this is through workshops that bring together people from all walks of life to learn about trans rights, the challenges faced by trans individuals, and the ways we can be allies in making the world a more inclusive place. It is my view that often misinformation and/or lack of education is what creates hatred and biases towards the transgender community. I’m thrilled to see this workshop designed to help people better understand the issues surrounding gender identity, the unique challenges faced by trans people, and the importance of inclusivity in all areas of life, whether in the workplace, in education, or at home. Workshops like this provide crucial information, promote empathy, and encourage action on behalf of the trans community. The world (I hope) is moving toward greater understanding, but we still have a long way to go. My experience as a parent has opened my eyes to the importance of education, compassion, and action in advancing the rights of transgender individuals. For me, this isn’t just about a workshop—it’s about creating real, lasting change that can make life better for my child, and for countless others who deserve to live authentically. I encourage you to attend, engage, and learn. The more we know, the better we can support one another in the fight for equality.

How do movements create a world that cherishes and celebrates queer and trans lives? Making sure LGBTQI+ communities can survive and thrive is central to not only gender justice and reproductive justice, but also climate justice, racial justice, movements to end all types of violence, crisis response, and even feminist anti-corruption work.
