Rules Interpreters Know but Don't Say Publicly The Noun-chain Rule The longer the chain of consecutive nouns, the less meaningful the phrase actually is. The Titles Rule The person with the most titles will say the fewest words at any conference. The Questions Rule When opening a session up to questions from the audience, if there are any questions, one will include a meandering story that is hard to interpret and end with the phrase "could the panel comment on that?" The Shift Rule No matter which length of shift you adopt, the hardest interpreting will arrive in the last five minutes before the handover. The Speed Rule The densest speeches are always delivered at the highest speeds. The Screen Rule "As you can see on the screen" is how speakers point to the hardest to read image on the slide deck. If they say "as you can clearly see", you will need a microscope, a team of miners, and a degree in hieroglyphics to read the chart. The Trends Rule Everything is a trend if you ignore all the conflicting evidence. The Demo Rule The relationship between tech demos and real life is the same as the relationship between Disney movies and parenting. The Prompt Rule All prompts and help from your boothmate will either miraculously arrive the second you were going to say the word or about five minutes after. There are no exceptions.

When multiple speakers are on the stage, how do we figure out when each person is speaking, even if they’re not introduced by name? This is made possible by 'speaker diarization'. It is a process wherein the system analyzes the audio signal and extracts certain features that can distinguish different voices, like pitch, tone, and speaking speed. Fine-tuning this technique specifically for event scenarios, Snapsight is now at its best-ever benchmarks, with enhanced content attribution & transcription. But that's just one update. We have been working on several more, from mass import of sessions to automatic real-time detection for 30+ languages. There's a lot more to dive into as we continue, and this is just a preview.
