We’re delighted to announce the arrival of a game-changing formulation for our ThermoHold? for Composites product that is a massive 69% lighter than its predecessor. ?? ? Our R&D team’s breakthrough work gives motorsport teams and manufacturers a huge lightweighting boost, enabling them to protect critical components from extreme heat and wear – through a minimal weight coating that retains all of its previous thermal and mechanical performance. ?? ? The latest ThermoHold? for Composites formulation weighs only 0.042g per cm2 but can still withstand temperatures of up to 1400°C, provide ~80% reflectivity, and is less than 200μm thick. ? ? What is sustainably green, protects high-quality bicycles and is worthy of an award? ?? That's right, the GREENGUARD Fahrradbox bicycle box from our long-standing customer and partner Mitras Composites Systems GmbH. ?? On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, AVK invited us to Stuttgart to present the highly anticipated annual innovation awards at the JEC Group Forum DACH. After our success last year with the GFRP coupling shaft, we thought it was a bit presumptuous to apply - but our enthusiasm for the product won out. We were more delighted to be one of the - all outstanding - three winners in the products category. A great pleasure and a well-deserved honour for the courage to develop an innovative, sustainable and novel product with the tried-and-tested material SMC. ???? We would of course also like to congratulate all the other award-winning projects. Very exciting and innovative ideas were honoured in all categories, so we could not have complained if we had been left empty-handed. As Michael Stegelmann already wrote, the strength of the lightweight builders in and around #Dresden was overwhelming. It's a great pleasure to be able to work with so many innovative, technically brilliant and likeable people in such close proximity. ?? Here's an example of Component Brands recognising the potential change that is coming as a result of Bike Matrix Ltd, and keeping us in the loop. (read; doing it right) I was invited on a call to go through some new e*thirteen Components products with Mike Dutton, after which he follows up with some documentation, providing me with links to live spreadsheets where I can see an overview of their entire catalogue, including technical specifications and supporting documentation. ENVE Composites do something similar with a live portal, TEKTRO Technology Corporation just sent me some updated product lists, and PNW Components asked what more they could give us. Fulcrum Wheels and Continental Tyres said they had a new list coming soon, and microSHIFT, enviolo, Ultimate Sports Engineering and several others advised thay had no update from the last product information they sent through. To us, this is an invaluable way to do things. Treat us the same way you treat your bike brands, your distributor, your dealers. After all, we're selling your products too. In the not to distant future, Bike Matrix Ltd will be how everyone buys and sells bike parts. Just ask the Automotive Industry!

BComp uses flax, a plant with a long fiber that possesses very good mechanical properties and outstanding damping properties in relation to its density, making it especially suited as a natural fiber reinforcement for all kinds of polymers. Inspired by the veins on the backs of leaves, Bcomp’s powerRibs is said to create a 3D grid on one side of a thin-walled shell element, which maximizes stiffness at minimal weight. It is also said that, compared to carbon fiber, the natural fibers far outmatch in performance and sustainability, including equivalent stiffness to weight, up to a 75% lower CO2 footprint for a composite part, increases safety, is 30% lower in cost and leaves no residual waste by the end-of-life (EoL) of the parts.?? Exciting Press Release from Albert Handtmann Metallgusswerk GmbH & Co. KG. They received a €630 million order for high-voltage battery housings, the biggest single order in its company history! ??? The high-voltage battery housing realised through the #megacasting/ #gigacasting process comes from a well-known German OEM. This new order is for a high-voltage battery housing, which will serve as the entry-level platform for all future electric vehicles. Automobilwoche speculates that the customer is Volkswagen and the model is the upcoming ID 2. ? The focus was on an innovative one-piece product design ? previously these components consisted of around 130 individual parts ? This new one-piece design not only substitutes numerous individual components, previously made mainly from extruded profiles, but also achieves a cost saving of around 30% in production ?? Based in Biberach/Riss (Baden-Württemberg), Handtmann already utilizes a Bühler Group Carat 610 at their production site. The chinese OEMs are all over the gigacasting process and now Volkswagen is coming up as well.
