Generative Ai will not transform your business - but it is a computing platform that can be leveraged to transform your business in specific use cases. Companies like Amazon look for high effort, large scale tasks (that everyone hates) and build Ai tools that automate it. For Amazon, one use case saves them 4500 equiv dev years, which I will certainly call “non trivial.” For those not yet actively deploying these systems, you will be left behind by those who can deliver 10x the quality at 100x less cost.

The power of being “#digitalnative” has been witnessed on many fronts. But, the hesitation to move up the digital agendas still loom enterprises often intimidated by the narrative that has stuck - 70% of digital transformations struggle / fail to deliver value. With this hesitation, there is a huge price tag attached that enterprises pay - diminishing profit pools and stunted growth. So far, Amazon's approach to AI appears to be more tailored and beneficial for the professional world. Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach with errors, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced a more precise and industry-specific AI system. This new system aims to streamline tasks for developers, allowing them to focus on the creative and innovative aspects of programming, ultimately speeding up the development of unique and remarkable products. I had the opportunity to talk about this with my new dean about these exciting advancements! It's always important to remember that there is a difference between having AI "do it for you", and working with AI to "Create something new". The missing part of the AI puzzle is us. Instead of using AI to do your research, give it data to help you see the data differently. Instead of having it create a story, tell it a story and have your words come to life in a new way. AI can help you notice data trends you otherwise may not have seen. Professionals can use AI as a professional assistant to point there project in the right direction. For example, last term, I fed flight data into an AI and had it analyze it. While that was happening, I also did all the steps to clean the data and made the pivot tables and charts to see the data myself. After reviewing the data, which was all the flights out of #PDX since 1995, I was able to find the anomaly that raised the question to my school project. #AI #Amazon #AWS #ArtificialIntelligence #Developers #Programming
