The clean energy economy isn't just a pet project for blue states: every single state saw job gains in the clean energy sector in 2023. That's because renewable energy makes common sense: solar's gotten cheaper to install, electricity costs are surging, and everyone benefits from cheaper, cleaner energy. #solar #renewables #cleanenergy
In 2023, clean energy created 142,000 new jobs. Here’s where the greatest number of clean energy jobs are located: 1?? California (545,207) 2?? Texas (261,934) 3?? New York (177,202) 4?? Florida (172,115) But clean energy job creation isn’t just a coastal phenomenon—nor is it, as these numbers prove, an industry that favors blue states over red states. In 2023, West Virginia had the biggest increase in clean energy jobs by a long shot. Clean energy jobs are appearing in all 50 states, and in communities of all types and sizes. By unlocking capital for small and medium-sized projects, we’re helping to build a distributed energy grid in communities across America. And thanks to the IRA’s unprecedented investments in climate, clean energy, and manufacturing, the U.S. is developing the workforce needed to sustain it.

I'm looking forward to joining CTDEEP, VCTN, and the City of New Haven to discuss paths to #NeighborhoodScaleDecarbonization For years, USDOE has promoted awareness of the enormous potential to heat and cool our homes, businesses, schools, and other buildings using heat pumps and geothermal energy. And in the last several years, across Connecticut and the Northeast, there has been a burst of interest in and activity around this little-exploited form of thermal energy. In this webinar, part of the Exploring Climate Solutions Webinar Series we look at: * Projects across the region to design and build thermal energy networks that serve entire neighborhoods; * A range of other low- and zero-carbon thermal energy resources that such networks can incorporate to make them even more versatile and efficient; and * emerging policies, programs, and practices to empower communities to harness this suite of technologies to rapidly, democratically, and equitably move themselves toward the era of clean energy. Panelists are Jared Rodriguez, Executive Director of Community Decarbonization Partners; Debbie New, Coordinator of Vermont Community Thermal Networks; and Steven Winter, Director of the City of New Haven’s Office of Climate and Sustainability. June 10, 2024, 12:00-1:00 p.m. Eastern Time Register:
