?? Not many people can directly interpret raw data... most of us need some form of visualisation. Our software comes with many visualisation options, and one of them is the representation of data on a map. ? ??? Our maps module is an embedded GIS (Geographic Information System), on which objects can be dragged and dropped. Also, as you see on the right plane of this image, selecting an object results in a direct report preview for even more insights. Besides the objects, you can include Shape files and similar file types. ? ?? Want more advanced GIS methods? You can include elevation data, offline data, open street maps and much more. ? ?? And to get even more value out of your data: GeoDin allows for actions like interpolation or triangulation. ? ??? ?? How to extract Raster Surfaces from a Point Cloud in ArcGIS Pro????? ?? It is way easier than you might think! A few simple clicks to derive highly valuable Surface Information about your area such as Digital Terrain Models (DTM or DEM), Digital Surface Models (DSM) or Digital Height Models (DHM or nDTM). ?? These raster surfaces provide detailed, accurate representations of terrain, enabling precise analyses for a range of applications such as different feature extraction workflows, hydrological analysis such as Flood modelling, least cost path models, site suitability models, Solar potential, erosion potential, urban planning, height information about buildings, trees, and many many more! ??Additionally other highly valuable information can be derived such as slope, hillshade, aspect etc.. Which again can feed into different models. Here's why elevation models matter: 1?? ?? Precision: High-resolution point cloud data translates into precise elevation models, crucial for engineering and scientific studies. 2?? ?? Visualization: DEMs enhance visualization, allowing stakeholders to better grasp topographical features. 3?? ?? Analysis: ArcGIS tools facilitate complex spatial analysis, aiding decision-making processes. Check out this short video which explains how to derive such an elevation raster from a point cloud --> https://lnkd.in/dEZGqueG Principle steps are: 1.???Filter the points you want to rasterize (Ground for DTM, all for DSM) 2.???Export points as a raster surface (adjust parameters if needed) ?? Let's spark a conversation! How are you leveraging Point Clouds and elevation Data in ArcGIS Esri? Share your insights, challenges, and success stories below. Let's amplify our collective GIS capabilities! ???? ??? ??#PointClouds #Esri #Sustainability #GIS #DigitalElevationModels #SpatialAnalysis #TechInnovation #ArcGIS #remotesensing #imagery #featureextraction #EsriDeutschland #mapping #EarthObservation #ArcGISPro #ImageAnalysis #esrivoices?? ??

Key Differences Between ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro Matthew Berra & Megan Banaski, ArcGIS Pro: Tips and Tricks ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro are both powerful GIS platforms from Esri, but they differ significantly in design and functionality. ArcMap's .mxd files have been replaced by .aprx project files in ArcGIS Pro, offering a more integrated experience. ArcGIS Pro enhances user interaction with its ribbon-based interface, always-enabling editing, and seamless integration with ArcGIS Online and portals. Tools like the Explore tool combine essential functions such as pan, zoom, and identify, providing a streamlined workflow. Additionally, ArcGIS Pro supports both 2D and 3D spatial analysis, making it a versatile tool for modern GIS professionals. ArcGIS 10.8.2 is the last release of ArcMap and will continue to be supported until March 01, 2026, as established in the?ArcMap Product Lifecycle. ESRI recommends that customers start migrating their projects and workflows from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro. #ArcMap, #ArcGIS #Pro, #GIS, #Mapping, #SpatialAnalysis, #Geoprocessing, #RemoteSensing, #GISTools, #Esri

VIZZIO's Earth Digital Twin 3D Map now FULLY support QGIS, ESRI ARCGIS and China's Super MAP With our high-fidelity, geometrically accurate 3D city map, we leverage on GIS software to model complex terrains, urban environments, and even underground infrastructures, providing a more realistic and interactive representation of spatial data. This capability is invaluable for urban planning, disaster management, and environmental monitoring, where understanding the spatial relationships and topographical nuances is essential. By leveraging GIS data in 3D visualizations, stakeholders can make more informed decisions, predict outcomes more accurately, and communicate findings more effectively. This transformation from traditional 2D maps to dynamic 3D visualizations not only enhances analytical capabilities but also improves the accessibility and comprehensibility of spatial data for a broader audience. Now, all your government applications built on ARCGIS can still utilize the GIS layer/data and be visualized on our satellite-mapped 3D city map. https://lnkd.in/g2HDmhGh

?? Attention GIS Users: A Friendly Reminder About Map Projections! ?? When working with spatial data, it’s crucial to remember that the map projection you choose can significantly impact your results. One common projection, Web Mercator (also known as Pseudo-Mercator), is widely used in web mapping applications due to its speed and is usually the default projection in GIS software if any base maps are used. However, it’s important to note if you are using this projection that measuring distances or undertaking spatial analysis using planar/cartesian calculations will lead to inaccuracies, especially for larger distances and locations away from the equator. Why does this happen? ?? The Web Mercator projection involves transforming the three-dimensional surface of the Earth onto a two-dimensional plane, which inevitably introduces some distortion. The distortion increases as you move away from the equator. So, what should you do instead? One option to improve accuracy is to make sure you are using geodesic measurement tools and settings or preferably choose a projection that meets the specific requirements of your project. If accurate distance measurement is crucial, you might want to consider using a different projection. State and national spatial agencies will list preferred projections for example see NSW Spatial’s list here https://lnkd.in/g5Sd4_sa Happy mapping! ???

From my experience processing spatial datasets, projections and coordinate reference systems are essential to ensuring the validity of all geometries. Most GIS projects' output results are impacted by inaccurate and invalid geometry. Specialists in GIS, remote sensing, and surveying should exercise caution; this reference book will advise you accordingly. Finally, confirm that every dataset you have is in a consistent format and geometries (e.g., CRS).
