So, recently I applied for a Quality Engineer 1 position at a prominent space manufacturing company located on this big blue planet of ours. Within a couple days I received an email stating they were moving forward with other candidates. Tough luck, I get it. However, a few months prior, I had applied for a Quality Engineer 3 and a Quality Engineer 2 position a couple months apart. Interviewed for both, received job offers for both. I had applied to both based on the favorable shift available/posted. Those shifts had evaporated and the job offers were for shifts that presented issues logistically-commute/timing and had to decline. The qualifications/requirements/certifications were nearly identical for all three positions. Obviously, the Quality Engineer level 2&3 positions carried increased responsibilities. So how is it that I would receive job offers for the higher level/higher salaried positions but passed on the level 1? I submitted the same resume for all three positions. Am I being blacklisted due to declining the previous two job offers? Is there such a thing? Some unwritten code or HR tribal knowledge? Or just simply a case of that's just the way it goes? I am in no way disgruntled, a victim etc. Trying to get a hold of HR to find out the reasons is futile. But I'm not going to keep applying to this company if I'm being flagged somehow- never to be given a chance. Insight, advice, comments welcomed.
