At The Civics Center, we’re tackling one of the most pressing issues in our democracy: voter registration among young people. Every year, 4 million Americans turn 18, but shockingly, fewer than 30% are registered to vote. The biggest hurdle? Barriers to registration. But with your help, we can overcome this challenge. Our solution is straightforward yet powerful: preregister teens while they’re still in high school. We provide the tools, support, and incentives to make this happen. We’re launching a program to empower students to lead their voter registration drives with guidance from adults like you. We’re offering virtual training, ongoing support, and even a $150 gift card for up to three students per school who take on this leadership role. Imagine a student-led voter registration drive at each of our high schools, empowering their peers to register before Ohio’s voter registration deadline, October 7th. We would love their events to occur before or during our Student Voter Registration week, September 23 -27th! Your support is crucial in making this vision a reality and increasing voter registration among our 18—and 19-year-olds. #StudentLedVoterRegistration #TheCivicsCenter

Do you know young folks in the Pittsburgh area who are curious about voting? I've got a program for you! PA Youth Vote, The New Pennsylvania Project, National Council of Jewish Women, Pittsburgh Section, LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF GREATER PITTSBURGH, Jewish Healthcare Foundation, The Civic Center, The Alliance for Police Accountability have been working on a youth-driven voting program for the last half year+. We've been working with a team of self-selected, interested area public high school teens from across Pittsburgh who will lead a 1/2 day huddle on March 15 to train their friends and peers on civic engagement and voter registration. With Allegheny County voter registration rates at under 30% for 18-year old eligible voters in public schools, the goal of this program is to help our area's youngest voters see their collective power, understand how to advocate for the changes they want to see, and increase not only voter registration rates but also voting rates. Participants will receive transportation assistance, lunch, snacks, swag, and a gift card, as well as the opportunity to register to vote and to become trusted leaders in their own schools. The huddle occurs on a Pittsburgh Public Schools half-day and runs from 12-4. We will provide lunch and snacks, transportation assistance, swag, and gift cards to participants. Those who attend will get training on how to run voter registration drives and how to motivate their peers to get excited about voting. We are taking an issues-based approach so that young people can see how they can use the vote to create change on the issues that are important to them. What if we told you that minimal incentives can drive massive engagement? ?? In "The Year of Joy" community, we saw a high engagement rate with only three $50 gift card drawings each month. How? By focusing on real connections and valuable content. Our community of 5,000 thrived on weekly newsletters, discussions, and polls, all designed to boost joy. We avoided templated messages and responded with empathy, creating a space where joy and engagement came naturally. Authenticity. Engagement. Joy. That’s our formula. Shout out to FlexMR for providing the platform where the magic happened! #mrx #marketresearch #onlinecommunity #engagement #authenticity #connections #flexmr #yearofjoy
