Our large woody structures in the upper Spey are having a huge impact on the river and its habitats!?? What was once a featureless stretch of river, uniform and no more than knee deep, now has extremely deep pools around nearly all of the 80+ structures. ???? These pools will provide a cool, lifesaving refuge for juvenile Atlantic salmon from summer heatwaves.??

This is 350 million years in one picture. Situated 80 meters from the Irish shore is an impressive sea stack known as Dun Briste or the ‘Broken Fort’. It is an astonishing formation in the sense that it allows you to see layer upon layer of multicolored rock strata. #awesomeandrealstories
