Great insight Matthew Pack! It can be challenging as a new hire, however keeping an open mind for guidance and being able to adapt are helpful reminders. Having a new hire can also be difficult for team members. It takes time for a team to build trust in your abilities, however maintaining an understanding perspective allows your team the time to learn your skillsets and strong points, helping the team continue to grow in a healthy culture.

I just read an article which I loved. The article was on how the role of P&C within organisations is continuously transitioning ? - The role of P&C within organisations used to be as 'Stewards of employment' meaning in the past the main focus was with making sure human performance met organisational needs - Currently the role of P&C is known to be more as 'Stewards of work', meaning that P&C are bending the curves of work in different ways; enabling individuals to connect to work more seamlessly and meeting them on their own terms - Then there's the future of P&C which is to be 'Stewards of humanity', which focuses on doing good to improve the human condition Thoughts on this? There is for sure a pressing need for P&C to move beyond being stewards of employment to being stewards of work, and ultimately to being stewards of humanity. Therefore showing the importance of guiding organisations with a visionary approach whilst ensuring one of the most important things we can do in P&C... leave humans better off than when they began working with us!!! I'm thinking based on this that it's time to reallllly thing deeply at who your P&C hires will be, are they going to take you into your 'Stewards of humanity' era or will you stay as 'Stewards of employment'??…. ??????

Encouraging open dialogue and understanding individual circumstances can lead to more equitable solutions, ensuring that career progression isn’t stifled by rigid contractual obligations. But they really choose to make an employee wait for 3 days straight when he/she asks for the signed contract just to see.
