Important discussion Women's Digital Health Summit and importance of access to care, integration of care, and innovation to improve outcomes!!! Honored that Kindbody is leading the charge!!
Panel number 2 at the Women's Digital Health Summit: Women’s Digital Health: ?? Mapping the Current Commercial Landscape. Ft Kandis B Daroski, Dawn Laguens, Heather Bowerman and Dr Fahimeh Sasan. Takeaways included: ? Virtual care is one of the key trends that has shaped the women's health space (and health in general), however we must learn how best to provide hybrid care and integrate with in-person care. ? The biggest opportunities in women's health will be how we execute recent innovations and partner. ? Reimbursement needs to catch up to quality of care, especially for women's health.

HLTH Europe thrives on striking statistics. This week, we heard that women are up to 7 times more likely than men to have a heart condition misdiagnosed and be discharged during a heart attack. We learned that a whopping 15 million women use menstrual tracking apps. We were disappointed by the suggestion that women who run women's health companies raise less funding, and make lower valuations, than men who run women's health companies. On the main stage, Priya Agrawal, VP, Health Equity & Partnerships at MSD explained: "As soon as you say women's health, investors think 'niche'. How is 50% of the population niche? So I don't want people investing in women's health because it's the moral, nice thing to do. I want people to invest because it's a smart thing to do." Women are not a minority. Women's health is not a niche market. And the potential for growth in this market is immense: a staggering $1 trillion opportunity lies in bridging the women's health gap. It's a classic case of a win-win situation where promoting equity and boosting business outcomes go hand in hand. In recognition of this opportunity, HLTH Europe has prioritised women’s health in its inaugural edition, dedicating a stage, programming, and floor space to it. Under-discussed topics such as incontinence, endometriosis, overactive bladder, and women’s pain were given airtime. The ideation workshop, facilitated by the global consulting firm Kearney, provided a rare platform to delve deeper into the complex ‘how’ questions and actionable takeaways. In the meantime, we are already looking ahead to HLTH Europe 2025. Get our take on maximising its platform for your brand: https://lnkd.in/eKX_PUtN #HLTHEurope #WomensHealth #Healthcare

Let’s talk about federal funding for women’s health research! Last week I had the chance to participate in the Women's Health Innovation Series Summit, a conference focused on support and investment to transform women’s health. Support is catching on - recently, we’ve seen some key advancements in funding for women’s health research sparked both by the need for solutions and the President's Executive Order on Advancing Women's Health Research and Innovation. Some developments: - ARPA-H released their Sprint for Women’s Health program earlier this year, promising $100 million for research and development focused on tackling challenges in women’s health - The DoD has emphasized $500 million for women’s health research annually, primarily through CDMRP, and is adopting a new research policy that requires researchers to consider sex as a biological variable in study design and analysis But we still have a long way to go. I particularly enjoyed last week’s panel with Carolee Lee (Women's Health Access Matters) and Renee Wegrzyn and Jenica Patterson [Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H)]. My takeaways from the discussion: ??There is vast capability and interest in this field – the ARPA-H Sprint program received proposals from 45 states, the District of Columbia, and 34 countries! ??Health equity is at the forefront of the conversation ??We need to use a data-driven approach to best inform investment, innovation, and policy ??In-depth market landscape assessments show that there is a strong business case for women’s health Looking forward to the next few years in this exciting, innovative space. #womenshealth #innovation #research #funding
