Last week, as part of the AIM-Progress APAC hub event in Thailand, we had the privilege of listening to and learning from 14 migrant workers, primarily from Myanmar and a few from Cambodia. This experience was a powerful reminder that behind statistics and data are real human beings with unique, often staggering stories. Thanks to Embode’s facilitation, including icebreakers and trust-building activities, these workers felt safe to share their experiences openly. Through translations from Burmese and Khmer, we heard honest testimonials about their journeys—fleeing their homes, bearing the financial strain of brokers, and navigating life in host countries as well as their dreams for the future and hope. This event, organised in collaboration with the Migrant Working Group Thailand, underscored the importance of meaningful stakeholder engagement which is truly listening to those at the center of human rights challenges and using their insights to drive actionable change. Thank you for ensuring agenda space for this Yael. It is really noteworthy that the AIM-Progress team enables such direct engagement as a key item in the week of events.
It sounds like an incredibly enriching experience! I can only imagine the depth of impactful conversations that emerged from hearing the firsthand accounts of these migrant workers. Their stories not only highlight the challenges they face but also their resilience and aspirations. Thank you for amplifying their voices!

1 周Thank you Yael Fattal Lariccia??? Aarti Kapoor James Alexander Eckford for organizing such a meaningful and impactful event. It was really eye opening to hear directly from the migrant workers, each with their unique stories, abilities, and dreams. Such opportunities enable corporates to see beyond the metrics and connect with those forming the backbone of our supply chain - a platform much needed for the workers. Appreciate all your efforts to make this possible!
