The prevailing sentiment from these conversations can be encapsulated in one powerful statement: "Women arent small men". There safety in the workplace matters and it's time to close this gap. For decades, women in trades have navigated a landscape where safety gear options often fall short, forcing them into ill-fitting PPE designed without their needs in mind. But times are changing, with the increase of women entering traditionally male-populated industries, manufacturers have recognized the importance of designing safety gear tailored specifically to women's bodies. Women no longer need to settle for oversized men's clothing or the patronizing "Shrink it and Pink it" approach, because their safety is just as crucial as their male counterparts. Yet, despite progress, there's still work to be done. Women continue to face barriers in accessing PPE designed to protect them, creating an equity gap that puts them at a disadvantage.
