Regardless of what others may say, I would say that the market is certainly mixed out there right now. Many employers put things on hold until the election after which came Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. In our household we decorate for Christmas early and take them down late but even we are admitting that the holidays are now finally over. I am seeing an increase in activity in many areas but there is that foreboding shadow of the unknown for markets and industries tied to international suppliers. Local manufacturers are taking the grace period before increases in tariffs to stock up on product but there is not much sales recruitment because companies would rather have a product to sell while they can. I liken it to stocking up on firewood for the winter. You know that you will need it eventually and it is best if you do not run out.
