One last shameless plea from me if you've not been asked before: The Tendring4Growth business awards are open for nominations and I wondered whether I could ask for your support, if you feel that it's deserved! Categories that I believe I could qualify for would be 'Creativity & Culture' and possibly 'Community Impact' (but am happy if you feel that you'd prefer to nominate me for others!). What do you look for when you look at a charity to donate to? If you're like most folks, you probably check the bottom line: how much is going to the cause you're donating towards, and how much is going to that dreaded "overhead." But what if you made an investment into a company the same way? Are you worried how much Coca Cola is spending on marketing (overhead!) when you buy their stock? Because it’s crucial to meet and connect with them before the live auction kicks off! By using my tablet to walk them through the lots—complete with images and details—I can build anticipation and get them thinking about their favorite items long before they raise their paddles ???. This personal touch goes a long way. Guests feel more engaged, and when the live auction begins, they’re already excited about the items they’ve seen up close.
