Have you ever been curious how your orders are being prepared and shipped to your doorstep? Meet our Warehouse Manager, Rachel, and get to know what a typical day at work looks like for her! Rachel Gander Warehouse Manager 1. Tell us a little about yourself. My name is Rachel, and I live in Wisconsin with my son JP and my two dogs. I love reading, crocheting, snowboarding, and spending time with family. 2. What was your journey to get to Elevated Faith? My brother, Josh, is the founder! In 2016, I began shipping for Elevated Faith out of our parents' living room. Since then, I've had the opportunity to grow with Elevated Faith into what the company is today. 3. What do you like most about the culture at EF? I love how everyone works together as a team and is quick to help one another. We have a great, hard-working team here at the warehouse and it's always great to connect with the remote team as well! I like how we share prayer requests with each other, and really connect and uplift each other beyond just working together. 4. What does a normal day look like for you? Every day, I prepare the orders for the packing team to work on that day. Other than that, I might be accepting incoming deliveries, preparing new inventory, sending out packages to photographers and influencers, working with shipping carriers, and overall making sure everything at the warehouse is running smoothly! 5. How does working at EF inspire you? I'm inspired by seeing the reach that Elevated Faith has across the country, and even the globe as we send out packages to all different countries. I love receiving letters from customers and hearing the impact that their products have on the people around them, especially the young students sharing their faith to their classmates in middle school and high school! #efemployeehighlight #elevatedfaith #efworkculture Follow us to continue meeting members of the Elevated Faith team!

Completed my first full work week at Skye. A good week, w/ my definition of good being: ?? taking time to set yourself up for success To me that’s: ? getting right systems in place ? getting right processes in place ? getting familiar w/ all assets & resources ? getting familiar w/ value prop & talk tracks ? getting familiar with your team But shouldn’t you be blasting out calls, emails, proposals, closing deals asap.. that’s a no from me dog (Randy Jackson anyone?) Perhaps you’ve heard the story of the two woodcutters.. if you haven’t, here’s a condensed version: Two woodcutters in a competition to see who could cut down more trees ?? by the end of day. One experienced woodcutter older in years, the other younger and stronger eager to prove his ability. After an hour, the experienced one paused, sat down to take a break and invited the other to join. “No way! I’m going to keep chopping & beat you.” “Suit yourself,” ??♂? said the experienced one. This repeated itself throughout the day. Every so often the experienced one would pause to rest, while the younger stronger woodcutter kept chopping away. At end of day, they compared to see who had chopped more wood. The younger stronger woodcutter was astonished ?? to find that the older woodcutter (who kept taking breaks) had chopped way more wood. “How is that even possible? You spent far less time chopping than I did. I’m stronger and never once stopped chopping. What is your secret?” To which the experienced one replied, “every time I sat down, I was sharpening my axe.” ?? CTA - whether it’s a new job, new week, new quarter, new whatever.. take the time to put yourself in a position to win (sharpen that saw). #motivation #sales #coaching #skyeisthelimit

What's a work picnic? My 5th grade teacher, Ms. U, excelled at incorporating life lessons into her daily teaching. One of her famous teaching tools was that of a work picnic. Work picnics were something of a legend and rite of passage in my school. Wondering what a work picnic is? It's quite simple. It's working before picnicking in the park. At its essence, a work picnic is the lesson of "work before play." Here's how my teacher did just that. She taught us to: ?? Prepare to work. A few times in the spring semester we gathered our books, lunches, and sports equipment and head down to the local park. ?? Focus on our work. We laid out some blankets, sat down, and studiously worked from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. ?? Celebrate our success. It was time to picnic! We enjoyed our lunches, treats, and games all afternoon long until it was time to go home.? I thought of this experience today as I wrapped up some work. It's a wonderful memory, and even more powerful lesson that even the most mundane of experiences have something to teach us. How do you reward yourself after a job well done? My journey at Made Snappy 360 over the past 8 months has been a blend of hard work, valuable insights, and immense enjoyment. Initially, stepping into a senior role just two years post-university was daunting, but I couldn't have joined a more supportive team. Here are my key takeaways: ?? "Don’t ask for permission, beg for forgiveness." This motto from our CEO, Mark, embodies the trust placed in senior staff to make informed decisions aligned with our business goals. ?? Continuous Learning: At Made Snappy, no question is too simple. The culture here encourages learning and growth, without judgment. ?? Embrace Failure: Not every idea will succeed, but each failure is a learning opportunity. It's about growth and innovation. ?? ?? Mutual Respect: Our team is diverse in age, experience, and roles. This diversity, combined with mutual respect, creates a harmonious and communicative work environment. ?? Have a Laugh: The office is filled with laughter and banter. It’s a fun and happy place where everyone looks forward to coming to work. ?? Flexible Work Environment: Early on, I was offered the option to work from home two days a week to save on travel. This flexibility was initially surprising but quickly became a seamless part of my work culture. In summary, these past 8 months have been incredible. The team, the customers, and the role are all perfect for me, and I’m excited to continue growing with the company.

While the exact origin of National Have Fun at Work Day is unknown, here at Take Flight Learning, we suspect it was created by someone with the Parrot style. ?? Who else would seek to celebrate a day in which we stop taking ourselves so seriously? ?? Here are some ways to bring National Have Fun at Work Day into your organization: Plan a team building activity. These are classic go-to experiences for good reason: they build trust, help people get to know each other on a personal level, and they’re fun! There are many forms of facilitated team building events that range from just for fun events, such as treasure hunts and cake building exercises to building bikes for children. Check out www.TeamBuildersPlus.com if you’d like see what’s out there. ?? Create a friendly competition, such as a desk/door decorating contest or a chili cook-off. ??? Make it a themed Dress-Up Day such as, dress like your boss, Halloween in January, or wear what you wear while in a Zoom meeting while working from home (be sure to specify that pant are NOT optional). ???? Or even do something as simple as bringing sweets to work- just don't skimp on the sprinkles. ??? Whatever you choose to do, remember to: Make it happen like an eagle ?? Bring the energy like a parrot ?? Bring people together like a dove ??? Nail it down like an owl ?? And, most importantly, have FUN! ?? #nationalhavefunatworkday #havefunatwork #WhichBirdAreYou #learninganddevelopment #teambuilding

One of the activities we did at our team retreat last week was noting 1 thing you love about each team member and one area to improve. One member of my team wrote something along the lines of, “I know you’re busy every day, but I don’t really know what you do outside of what’s on your calendar.” As we’ve grown, I now spend less of my time doing the client work and more time growing my team/the business. I can 100% see in that transition how it’s hard to understand what my day to day is when it’s behind the scenes. SO! This week I’m sharing a day in the life every day from sun up to snooze. Here goes: 4:45 AM: Wake, make disney reservations 5:30 AM: Look at and plan week, prep for new hire and meetings for the day 6:45 AM: Listen to book, get ready, prep for cleaners, prep supper, get kids up/ready 8 AM: head to office, mindset call 8:30 AM: sales outreach/follow up, review notes/takeaways to HexaHive goals & focus areas based on feedback from retreat 11 AM: email/slack, weekly check in with Andrea 12:15 PM: passport photo + application 1 PM: NEW HIRE STARTED! ?? Initial overview + paperwork 1:30 PM: Letter to the editor, client meeting 2:45 PM: meeting with a prospective client + outlining next steps 4:30 PM: Work out 5:30 PM: Supper with fam, clean up 6:15 PM: Run quick errand, play with kids 8 PM: bedtime for kids 8:15 PM: Clean up, order school pictures, social, get ready for bed 9:10 PM: ??

Egg Drop Challenge ???? In Surf Office, we constantly gather customer feedback about the best team-building activities during the company offsites. Most teams usually choose something casual like cooking, walking tours, or e-bike trips. But there is one surprising activity I've heard about a couple of times: the "egg drop challenge" It's pretty simple: 1?? You divide your team into groups of 3-5 people 2?? Each team receives a few eggs 3?? Then they must design and build a structure that will prevent their egg from breaking when dropped?from the second floor of the building on the concrete 4?? You can provide some materials (tapes, straws, papers, etc.) or leave them to improvise with whatever they can find 5?? The team that can do it first wins Once, I heard the feedback that "This is the best team-building activity we've ever done". I want to try this challenge at our next company offsite in December.
