Arena Review #45 - Francis S. Levien Gymnasium - New York, NY
Francis S. Levien Gymnasium is the Lions' Home Arena for Men's Basketball and is located in New York, NY. The venue seats 2,500 and opened in 1974. Named for New York lawyer-industrialist Francis S. Levien (1905–95), it is home to the Columbia Men's and Women's Basketball teams and the Women's Volleyball team. Francis S. Levien Gymnasium is a great small-sized venue to take in a Division 1 College Basketball game. The crowd was ecstatic last night as the Columbia Lions played the Yale Bulldogs in an Ivy League Conference Game. Yale led Columbia the majority of the game and held off several late rallies by the Lions to win by the final score of 84-76. The Lions' Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa had 23 points and 3 rebounds while the Bulldogs' Danny Wolf had 20 points and 9 rebounds in the victory.
I would highly recommend visiting Francis S. Levien Gymnasium if you are ever in New York, New York and are looking to take in a high quality Division 1 Basketball game as Francis S. Levien Gymnasium is a great venue. Every seat at Francis S. Levien Gymnasium has you up close to the action on the court and there isn't a bad seat to be had. I will give Francis S. Levien Gymnasium 4.5 out of 5 stars as the small-sized venue was electric and the fans were very passionate and engaged as well. I am looking forward to visiting several Arenas in Virginia next weekend. Until then.
