Would you save someone’s life in exchange for one hour of your time? It’s a bit of a dramatic question, but right now there is a national blood shortage which means you can actually make that decision. In fact, the American Red Cross's blood supply has fallen by more than 25% since July 1st. Since blood is constantly flowing in and out of the system, the only way to make up this deficit is through a surplus of donations. That’s where you can make a difference. If you haven’t donated in the last 8 weeks, you are eligible and needed! Donating blood is one of my favorite ways to give because it allows individuals to literally give of themselves. For many, needles and blood can be intimidating, but the situations that people find themselves in who need these donations are even more frightening.
