Even before calculating carbon footprints and collateral environmental and health damages, our product is around 4 times less wasteful than salmon. That is X4 more sustainable. AT LEAST. Service and HORECA sector is the first real market test we are targeting with our upcoming launch next year, which will probably be the first of many. Modification to CPG packaging and retail will soon follow. Frozen seafood sold in supermarkets nowadays are snap frozen in liquid nitrogen and have a shelf life of 1-2 years. Domestic freezers can't freeze fast enough. That's why fresh seafood frozen in domestic freezers smell. By the time they freeze in 2-3h, they have started to rot. As a general rule, buy fresh seafood if you intend to eat them straight away. These fish have been feeding all summer and they will be bursting with flavor this time of year. Atlantic bluefin tuna can be a particular source of confusion, with contradicting and outdated reports surrounding its sustainability. However, of the three species of bluefin tuna (Pacific, Southern, and Atlantic) Atlantic bluefin tuna are the only species found in the Gulf of Maine, and they also happen to be the most sustainably harvested bluefin tuna fishery in the world. All the world’s a country’ and, everywhere, there is a need to communicate better and more about all the positive aspects of fish consumption. This need was highlighted in Spain during the 24th AECOC Seafood Congress. During the event it emerged that, throughout the Iberian Peninsula, demand for fresh fish and seafood has fallen significantly, with a?1.7% decrease in the last year. This scenario revealed the need to identify an effective communication strategy to reverse the negative trend and?promote the benefits of fish consumption. According to data presented by the consultancy firm NIQ, 814 million kg of fresh fish and seafood will be consumed in Spain in 2023, with fresh fish accounting for 70% of the total volume invoiced by the sector. The main consumption categories include crustaceans, salmon, sardines, anchovies and cephalopods. Despite the general decline, consumption of salmon, cod and sea bass increased by 1.1% and 0.6% respectively. #seafood #BlueEconomy #blutransformation #spain
