Eko's goal is to arm all 26 million healthcare professionals who use a stethoscope today with advanced heart disease detection capabilities so they can diagnose earlier and treat faster before complications become more significant. Securing an avenue for billing and reimbursement is a big part of the journey.
The American Medical Association approved Eko Health's application for a Category III CPT code, establishing a common nomenclature for our AI-enabled cardiac disease detection software that insurance can choose to cover and healthcare providers can choose to use starting in July. It has been an honor to steward this market access initiative, with gratitude to Connor Landgraf and Jason Bellet for the trust. Heart disease remains the leading cause of mortality in the United States, accounting for about 1 in every 5 deaths. Early detection plays a critical role in improving patient outcomes.
