At the exchange meeting of the municipalities on Wednesday 25 September 2024, ECOEMPOWER partner eza! Energie- und Umweltzentrum Allg?u took the opportunity to discuss the potential of One Stop Shops in the Allg?u Region. ? After a brief introduction to the ECOWEMPOWER project, eza! and the participants dove straight into key questions: What exactly are energy communities? What types exist, and what are the benefits? The concept of energy sharing soon became central. How well is Germany positioned for this? ? Several important points emerged during the discussion: ? A clear framework for energy sharing in Germany is still missing! ? Supporting framework conditions need to be established! (so that the decentralized energy transition is able to exploit its full potential) ? ?? A lack of grid expansion and feed-in points was highlighted. // The strategy and implementation of the grid expansion was debated. ? Can ECOEMPOWER have a bottom-up effect on regional or district policy? ? The event concluded with a lively discussion with a wide range of perspectives, also uncovering significant political barriers.
