?? Celebrating the Impact of the EGUSD FIRST Foundation Grant! We’re proud to highlight the incredible work happening at James Rutter Middle School through the Future Quest Elective, led by Mr. Joshua Shrader. Thanks to the EGUSD FIRST Foundation grant, students are engaging in hands-on learning through projects like woodshop, small engine repair, and even hatching baby chicks in an incubator! ?? These chicks are thriving and will be laying eggs by spring! ??? This is a shining example of how grant funding can transform education, providing students with engaging, real-world experiences. We’re honored to support initiatives that inspire learning and growth for students in our community. ???? #EGUSDFIRSTFoundation #JamesRutterMiddleSchool #FutureQuest #STEMLearning #CommunityImpact #HandsOnEducation

Reduce barriers and empower the youth to chase their dreams. The Jalen Hurts Foundation has forged a pivotal partnership with Lincoln Financial Group, ushering in a new era of growth for the?KB Foundation Inc.'s educational initiatives. The collaboration will profoundly impact the foundation's signature Lunch & Learn program, dramatically expanding its reach and effectiveness. Enhancements include: ??Doubled Program Frequency: The number of Lunch & Learn sessions will now be twice what it was previously, allowing for more consistent and comprehensive educational opportunities. ??Increased Student Participation: Each Lunch & Learn activity will now accommodate over 30 students, up from the previous capacity. This boost in attendance means more young minds will benefit from the program's valuable insights and experiences. ??Substantial Cost Savings: Transportation expenses will be reduced by nearly $70,000 annually. ??♀? Five Things I Learnt at NPC (New Philanthropy Capital) Ignites as a First Time Chair ??♀? ? 1. Just because you see your colleagues with a massive pack of ‘chair notes’ doesn’t mean you also need a massive pack of chair notes, it just means they're phenomenally prepared people (Naomi Chapman and Alex Hayes, looking at you!) 2. Next time, remember to introduce yourself, as well as the panel speakers... 3. If you want decent photos of yourself chairing for a LinkedIn post down the line, it helps to stand up and therefore be visible in said photo (see below) 4. It would be worth considering regular sponsorship of the?RSPB, just to get the Owls (tech speakers) onside… ?? 5. Prepping questions is a useful thing to do, just in case, but in all likelihood your speakers will be so wonderful and the audience so interested, you genuinely won’t have to add anything to the discussion In all seriousness, it was fantastic to be a part of such a well attended and well received breakout room, focused on 'How Should Funders Evaluate and Learn?' NPC's Claire Gordon began, introducing an upcoming framework from NPC on balancing MEL needs with being a trusting funder, which is being launched later this year. Asimina Vergou then followed with a presentation connected to one element of the framework, 'Sharing the Power' and discussed the Co-op Foundation's experience of engaging and sharing power with young people in measuring the impact of their funding. Kirsty Gillan-Thomas from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation rounded off the session with a presentation on 'Turning the Lens', describing how internal and external evidence can be used in funders evaluations. Finally, a thank you to all those in the room for your insightful questions and engagement throughout. Keep an eye on your inboxes for a link to NPC's upcoming Framework once it's launched. If you forgot to scan the QR code and sign up, comment below and I will add you to the list! #funders #NPCIgnites #MEL #evaluation
