When faced with criticism, here’s how to stay grounded: Pause Before Responding: Take a deep breath to process the feedback and avoid defensiveness. Seek Clarification: Ask questions like, “Can you elaborate on your concerns?” to foster constructive dialogue. Reflect on the Critique: Consider valid points that can refine your work, like a sculptor chiseling stone to reveal the masterpiece within. Strategies for Handling Critique: Maintain a growth mindset: View feedback as an opportunity to learn. Practice active listening: Show respect for their perspective. Respond with gratitude: Thank them for their insights.

Recognize their criticism without becoming defensive; after all, they might be trying to help you get better. “Thank you for your input; I’ll take it into consideration,” you can say. Examine their arguments objectively and determine whether the criticism is helpful. Instead of personalizing the assault, concentrate on the things that are helpful if it feels unpleasant. You can reduce emotional stress, stay in the now, and prevent the problem from getting worse by engaging in mindfulness exercises. Consider the criticism as a chance for improvement rather than a failure, and utilize it to improve your presentation later.

Wayne W.Dyer," Everything is either an opportunity to grow,or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose" Based on our perception, criticism can be detrimental or beneficial to personal development. Realise that "Destructive Criticism" is fostered by people who are insecure, have low self-esteem or are habituated to doing so "Mixed Criticism" has a combination of motives and presumptions of the whole truth "Recondition" your mind, stay calm to improve your intuition while assessing the motive behind the criticism Listen to the critic while paying attention to your emotions and assess if you can learn from the comments Identify the source, determine the validity, be open minded while avoiding negative reactions

It is important that we mindfully decipher if this is constructive criticism or a repeated behaviour of colleague to boost their ego. Constructive criticism is communicated in an effective manner and ensures more growth for the team. Hence the same should be accepted and responded after adequate reflection and pause. But if the criticism is a repeated behaviour then instead of ensuring growth, it will only damage the reportee confidence and self worth over a period of time. Hence clear communication is imperative to find resolution. In either situation, one should mindfully take a decision and accept criticism with adequate boundaries, so it enhances us, instead of causing more harm.

Take a look at why they're criticizing your work. If it makes sense, work on it and improve. But if it's just noise, ignore it and move on.
