Sick of hearing about brand marketing? Tough! It matters to your success, even if you don't yet appreciate just how much, so I'm just gonna keep banging on about it endlessly ?? When you get your brand and performance marketing working together, "one hand washes the other" as they saying goes: The more people are aware of your brand, the more likely they are buy. The more they buy, the more they pay attention to your brand. The more attention they pay, the more likely they are to buy. Rinse and repeat.* If you're not investing in brand building, you're limiting the success you'll have with your other promotional marketing activities. Research by Les Binet and Peter Field for the IPA report 'The Long and Short Of It' suggests that integrating brand and activation campaigns can double efficiency. They also show big profit gains over the longer term when businesses invest in brand marketing, something they put down to the fact that brand campaigns foster a longer-lasting emotional response whereas performance/activation campaigns work because they trigger a rational response (short-term satisfaction of a want or need). Honestly, if you want your business to grow and thrive, you need to think about promoting your brand and not just your products/services. *It's the same for charities, just swap 'buy' to 'donate'
