As you know connecting all students to successful pathways - and ensuring students are lifelong learners is a major passion of mine, which is why I was thrilled to attend The College Board's #CBForum24. It was an incredible conference filled with such knowledgeable people doing incredible things in the field. While I was there, I had the opportunity to speak with WorkingNation Ramona Schindelheim for #WorkingNationOverheard – and we had a great discussion about the importance of post-secondary learning. As I told Ramona, “learning doesn't end the day we walk across the stage.” Take a look and let me know what you think in the comments section

?????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????? ???????????? ???????????? ?????? ???????????? As part of their Capstone Design course, a team of eight seniors made a transformative difference for Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM). Now Georgia Tech graduates, they began the work over the summer and presented during the Fall 2024 semester. By applying their technical skills and teamwork, these students delivered real solutions that have helped NCM provide food and financial assistance to over 1,100 families each month — nearly twice as many as before, meaning more families in the community can now count on consistent support during tough times. “I was so impressed with their ability to relentlessly dig into what the problem is and get to the very bottom of what we’re trying to accomplish,” said Ryan Jones, executive director of Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries. “We accomplished so much more than we set out to in the first place.” READ THE FULL ARTICLE: https://lnkd.in/dHzZgnNT

TOB ?? Willamette Career Academy Team Oregon Build (TOB): A groundbreaking collaboration between education, industry, state, and community sectors to connect youth with high-wage, high-demand careers in construction trades. Lane ESD and Southern Oregon ESD secured over $2.6 million in grant funding from the Oregon Department of Education, provided through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III) fund. This funding enables a partnership with the Mid-Willamette Education Consortium to design and pilot TOB. The initiative expands on existing career and technical education (CTE) programs, such as the Mid-Willamette Valley Education Consortium’s Willamette Career Academy, Lane ESD’s Constructing a Brighter Future, and Southern Oregon ESD’s Bus Stop Project. TOB addresses disaster recovery, combats homelessness, and strengthens Oregon communities by teaching essential skills, building homes, and fostering meaningful community connections.
