I'm blown away by the story Katie Knight shared with Alexis Gustin and Educate Fairfax, talking about her experience as a student at Fairfax County Public Schools after her mom passed away. This is why community education is important. This is why every organization should look past the numbers to view its people as unique individuals with personal strengths and challenges. Even in an organization like FCPS, with more than 200k educators, students and families, it's still possible to serve the needs of each one. It is such an inspirational story!
Shucks, thanks Brian Tinsman!
I did not know this about you, but I see now why you’re so good at what you do! Passionately giving back to those who gave to you.
Such a powerful story — thank you for sharing, Katie Knight, and kudos to Alexis Gustin and Educate Fairfax for highlighting the real impact of community support in education. Stories like this are a reminder that behind every statistic is a student with a unique journey.
Thank you Katie Knight for sharing your story. I hope it encourages many of our Fairfax County Public Schools students to know they are adults out there who care for them including us Educate Fairfax. Thank you for your vulnerability and the way you are paying it forward both with Educate Fairfax and Apple Federal Credit Union.
