Hi, I just want to quickly share my experience yesterday at my first Hackathon event HackUTA 6 by The University of Texas at Arlington. What made you originally want to be an engineer? Because my Dad was an engineer on the Apollo Mission and he came home and talked about how his teams were better when there were female mathematicians?on the team. This discussion between?Melinda French Gates?and her daughter Phoebe is a great example of how influential early role models are. Melinda's Dad and his female?#STEM?colleagues were pivotal in inspiring?her to consider and subsequently pursue a career in engineering. We don't know what jobs will look like in the future, but as Melinda predicts, we know that computer science and?#AI?will have a massive impact on our society. So, it's imperative that women have equal opportunities in creating the innovations that will shape our world. Collaboration of different experiences and perspectives?are key in creating technology that works for all. The Innovation Lab is a dedicated space that fosters creative thinking, experimentation and the development of new ideas, processes, and products.
