The construction industry is massive, and impacts just about every single person in modern society, either directly or indirectly.
We also have some huge threats to the industry, and one of the largest is a worsening shortage of workers. There are a lot of complicated factors that go into this, but one of the biggest is that we suck at advocating for ourselves.
Sometimes, we only tell the bad stories about the industry, and not the good, and that pushes people away.
Sometimes, we hide the ugly parts in a well-intended effort to attract people, who ultimately feel cheated and leave.
Sometimes, we just skip telling stories altogether and choose to bury our heads in the sand.
All of these are wrong.
If you are passionate about the construction industry, and want to help to strengthen our workforce, and protect our future, I have an awesome program for you to be a part of.
Crew Collaborative is hosting fall sessions of the Ambassador program on November 7th and November 14th, from 3:00PM to 4:30 PM Central Time.
I did the program in fall of 2023, and it is incredible. For individuals considering it, you will learn how to be an advocate for the industry, how to tell the truth of how great a career in construction can be without hiding the rougher parts, and learn some critical leadership skills.
For leaders who are wondering, "Why should I have my employees participate?", this program gives your people the tools and skills to be a spotlight for not just the industry, but for your company. Crew Collaborative is focused on strengthening the construction workforce and changing negative misconceptions about the industry. An Ambassador on your team is an asset that can tell stories to strengthen how your company is perceived by potential future employees, partners in the industry, and your local communities.
The best part? Participation doesn't cost a dime.
