Thanks to everyone for the continued conversation about the climate in downtown Raleigh and all the great ideas you have brought forth. Let's move into another era of a thriving Downtown. With all this being said I did want to take advantage of this attention for some self-promotion (I mean this is LinkedIn). What have we done to adapt and improve ourselves here at Crank Arm Brewing Company ? We have worked on overall customer experience. Increased training for staff members. Added health benefits for all employees who work over 20 hours per week including vision, dental, short-term disability and life insurance. Upgraded our POS to speed up check out times and to reduce paper waste. Worked closely with the Downtown Raleigh Alliance on the Sip n' Stroll social district and to add a Food Truck zone on Davie St. Added a spirits program that incorporates local beverage producers into our lineup. (We realize that not everyone loves beer) Added more weekly events including Music Bingo on Mondays, Trivia on Thursdays and a faster speed, longer distance ride on Sundays. Having more themed community events more frequently than twice a year or once a quarter. Added a community outreach specialist who's mission is to engage with local business and communities to find way to collaborate and to drive traffic to the tasting room. I am sure I am missing some things as there is a lot going on. Do you want to collaborate or host an event at Crank Arm? Let me know. Cheers Y'all!
Good on you for the health benefits. That was a constant frustration during my stint in the industry... Most physical job I ever had, low paying, and no benefits.
Hey man, I'm doing something new these days, let's connect. Do you still have my number?
Adam props for 1) doing those things for the employees and customers and 2) sharing it for others to glean from and contribute ideas to. You’re not just a cool dude and amazing brewer, you’re obviously a solid business owner and leader! Keep up the great work and product!

10 个月Thanks, Adam Eckhardt for the thoughtful conversation prompt in regards to some of the challenges retail, specifically F&B, is facing in Downtown Raleigh. While I'm not down there for recreation as much as I used to be, this is a helpful reminder to revisit and support our favorite businesses that give out Downtown it's character.
