Software Developers hear me out.... TIP OF THE DAY If you are currently looking for a new role, and even more so if you have unfortunately found yourself in a lay off scenario, there are still companies hiring 100%. Best case, you want to be picked up by a recruiter or internal talent acquisition specialist, as you cut right through those 300 applications that you see in response to an advert. So, one of the things I would HIGHLY recommend is making sure that your Linkedin profile has key words and a description of what you have been doing. I am currently hiring for numerous US software engineers and if I can't get a good steer on what someone has been working on, or their tech stack (as all there is to see is a job title) I sadly move on and find the next one. I could be missing out on some amazing talent, but I also can't reach out to everyone to ask them. So, your Linkedin profile should be a replica of your CV/resume (of course appreciate some info will be confidential) but this will massively increase your chances of being approached about a role...... and more importantly one that looks like a good fit!

Practical advice to job seekers facing a tough market with layoffs and rescinded offers ???????????? ???????? ??????????????: 1. Be proactive, not reactive. 2. Create opportunities instead of waiting for them. ?????? ?????? ??????????????: 1. Cold Messaging: Send 50-100 personalized messages daily on LinkedIn using a fixed template tailored to each job and company. 2. DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms): Master one programming language, practice speed coding on platforms like Leetcode, and participate in virtual contests. ???????????? ????????????????: 1. Prioritize: Experience > Achievements > Projects > Skills > Education. 2. Tailor resumes for each job opening. 3. Highlight strengths and downplay weaknesses. ????????????????: 1. Build projects incrementally. 2. If pressed for time, clone and modify GitHub projects but understand them deeply to avoid issues in interviews. ???????? ????????????????: 1. Study Operating Systems (OS), Databases (DBMS), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Networking. 2. Practice SQL queries and schema design regularly. 3. Study networking at last, just read about how internet works and packet travelling. ?????????????? ??????????: 1. Smaller startups are more likely to respond to cold messages. 2. Study High-Level Design (HLD) as startups focus on it during interviews. 3. Low-Level Design (LLD) should be learned after getting comfortable in DSA. ?????????? ??????????????: 1. Start with 4-5 coding questions. 2. Alternate between study sessions (OS, DBMS + SQL, OOPs, System Design) and sending LinkedIn messages. 3. Dedicate time for DSA or project development. #hiring #jobs #layoffs #programming #hustle #revoke #remote #startup

It's getting harder to break into software engineering. This feels true and the data seem to tell the same story. There are just fewer positions overall. Companies have tightened hiring and laid off staff in the pursuit of capital efficiency. When they do hire, newcomers and veterans now compete for the same spots. Landing that first role is tough. It's a totally different environment than what I had at the beginning of my career. Hang in there if you're looking for your first professional engineering job. Don't limit your search to remote positions. Talk to people both here and in the real world. Try not to get discouraged. And if I can be helpful, please let me know.

?? Week 11: A Challenging Week ?? This week has been a tough one. As financial pressure mounts, I’ve had to shift more energy into job searching, leaving less time for development. It’s been hard to remain consistent, but I’m doing my best to keep moving forward, even if progress is slower than I’d like. Progress: ??? Backend Updates: Created backend routes for the friends list and sidebar functionality. Cleaned up some code to improve maintainability and prepare for future features. ?? Frontend Work: Built initial components for the friends list and sidebar. While they’re not ready for the production environment yet, this groundwork will make future integration smoother. Challenges: Balancing job applications, interviews, and development has been a struggle. It’s tough to juggle everything, but I’m staying committed to my goals. Next Steps: ?? Finalize the friends list and sidebar components for production. ?? Continue refining the chat feature’s user experience. ?? Stay consistent with coding while pushing forward in my job search. ?? Job Search: I’m actively seeking remote roles in IT or software development, preferably based in the US. If anyone has advice, leads, or recommendations, I’d love to hear from you! ?? How do you stay motivated and consistent when life’s challenges pull your focus away? I’d appreciate any tips or insights! ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????? ????? A few months ago, I received a call from a company offering a front-end developer position. The process began with a challenging task to be completed within two days. I managed to complete the task successfully and was then called for an online interview the next day. After clearing that interview, I was invited for a face-to-face interview. The CEO grilled me for two straight hours, and finally, I was offered the position. I accepted and submitted all my documents, excited to join the organization in just four days. However, on the day of joining, the HR informed me that their senior developer, who had joined just 15 days earlier, had some family issues and would be absent for the next 15 days. I needed to work with him, so my joining was delayed by 20 days. Although skeptical, the HR seemed genuine, so I waited. Later, they informed me that the senior developer had completely ghosted them, not answering calls or messages, and most likely left the job to join a new organization. They then told me they needed to hire a new senior full-stack developer first, and only if he required assistance, they would contact me. This experience was disheartening, but ???? ???????????? ???? ?? ???????????????? ???????????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????????????? ?????? ???? ?????????????????? ???????????? ?????? ???????????? ??????????????. ????????'???? ???????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????????? ?????????? ?????????? ?????????????? ?????????? ??????????????, ?????????? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????. I've been using Built In lately to apply for software development jobs, and so far I am finding it to be a much better experience compared to sites like LinkedIn, Indeed, or ZipRecruiter. The job postings are well-curated, up-to-date, and legitimate. The site also feels more user-friendly, and I like how the job and company descriptions are displayed side by side. It makes it a lot easier to get a sense of the position and company without having to constantly scroll up and down. Also, it feels a lot more encouraging to apply for a job when you don't see 1,000+ applicants already listed. If you're looking for work in tech and haven't tried it yet, I definitely recommend it! #SoftwareDevelopment #JobSearch #TechJobs #ProfessionalGrowth
