Can you help us tell the story of Clophill Lakes? ?? We’re looking to gather as much information on the site as we can to help us to learn more about it and the stories that local people have, informing the interpretation we'll have on site and on our website. Clophill Lakes has a rich history, from the medieval Cainhoe Castle and later moated site to the Fuller’s Earth quarry, always being an important part of the village. As we are recording the history of the site, we want to make sure local stories are captured too: those that worked, played, and appreciated the site. This might be what the site looked like before the quarrying, working or seeing the quarrying, and its subsequent restoration. If you have any memories or stories we'd love to hear from you, as it will build up our oral history archive about the site. Alternatively, if you just want to write down some memories that is great ??? We are also on the hunt for any photographs of the site, particularly from when it was a quarry or being restored. These can be digital or hard copy, and we will arrange collection, scanning, and return of any items. You will of course be correctly credited for any images supplied.
