Just completed another Blue Team challenge focused on digital forensics! ???? The investigation focuses on the threat actor which uses the template injection (MITRE T1221) technique to evade detection and spawns various malicious child process. Using volatility VadInfo plugin, I was able to get dumps of the malicious files and using fileScan and netstat finally found the exfiltration over the C2 channel (MITRE T1041). Very informative lab.
