?? Fail an Interview: Lessons Learned from Java Interviews ?? In the last six months, I've conducted over 50 interviews for Java candidates. Here are some key insights to help you ace your next interview: 1?? Smile, It Costs Nothing: Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but start and end with a smile, no matter how it went. It sets a positive tone. ?? 2?? Don’t Be Overconfident: Answer only what is asked. Be humble—overconfidence can backfire. Stay respectful and modest. ?? 3?? Pause Before Answering: Even if you know the answer, take a moment. Repeat the question to ensure you understand it. Especially in system design and coding, clarity is key. ?? 4?? Steer the Interview: For most of the questions in java there are follow up questions. Subtly mention related points while answering, but don’t jump ahead unless asked. ?? 5?? Don’t Overrate Yourself: Overrating yourself can backfire if you stumble on basic questions. Keep it real and honest. ?? 6?? Attitude Over Competency: For junior positions, your attitude might matter more than your tech skills. Be a team player, show a willingness to learn, and work hard. ?? 7?? Don’t Fear Failure: Failed interviews are the fastest way to learn. Go in with the mindset that you’ll either review what you’ve learned or gain new insights. ?? Ready to ace your next interview? **Navigating the Interview Journey: Seeking Advice on Technical and Soft Skills** Hello LinkedIn community, I wanted to share a recent experience and seek your valuable advice. Over the past few months, I’ve been actively interviewing for opportunities in the tech industry, focusing on roles that leverage my skills in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. Despite providing accurate and relevant answers to most technical questions (8 out of 10, to be specific), I’ve faced some rejections. This has led me to reflect on my interview strategy and approach. Here are a few areas where I’m seeking guidance: 1. **Tailoring Technical Responses:** How can I better align my technical answers to demonstrate not only my knowledge but also how it fits with the company’s specific needs and culture? ?? 2. **Effective Communication of Skills:** What techniques can help me present my technical skills and project experiences more clearly and confidently during interviews? ?? 3. **Demonstrating Team Fit:** How can I effectively showcase that my skills and experiences make me a great fit for both the role and the team? I would greatly appreciate any insights, advice, or personal experiences you can share to help me refine my approach. Thank you in advance for your support! #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #InterviewTips #Java #SpringBoot #Microservices #ProfessionalGrowth --- Feel free to tweak the post to better match your personal voice and experiences!

Interview tip ?????? Let them know you're interested!!! It may sound silly, and even obvious, but it's something that many people forget to do, and could make a world of difference. After all, how are they going to know how important it is to you if you don't tell them. This could be sending a follow-up email afterwards thanking for their time and reiterating your interest in the role. Or even simply letting them know at the end of the call/interview, "I am really excited about this opportunity and would love to work here!" Let me know if you've tried this and how it worked out for you! #interview #toptips #interviewtips #hiring #java #kotlin

Please correct me if I am wrong. One of my friends was recently rejected from a job interview because he couldn’t answer some specific technical questions. While it might seem reasonable to be declined if you can’t respond, I found it surprising when he explained that the questions focused heavily on particular packages. In my opinion, instead of asking, “Tell me something about CASL,” a better question would be, “How do you handle authentication and authorization in node js?” There are often multiple ways to solve a problem, so interview questions shouldn’t revolve around a single tool or method. Candidates may have used different approaches in previous roles, as not everyone is familiar with every framework or package. An interview should evaluate whether someone can adapt and learn new technologies, not whether they’ve memorized specifics. What matters is their problem-solving ability and willingness to innovate. If knowing every package were required, what do those documentations and other internet stuffs exist?
