Breast cancer awareness hits home for me in a profound way. As a 25-year-old, I watched my mother’s life be taken by breast cancer in just three short months. It was a devastating reminder of how aggressive this disease can be if not detected early. Breast cancer is highly survivable when caught in time, and that's why awareness, early detection, and regular screenings are so important. ?? I stand with the incredible survivors, advocates, and those still fighting this battle. Let's keep spreading the word and making a difference. Regular Mammograms: Mammograms are the most effective screening tool for early detection. Women aged 40 and above, or those with higher risk factors, should follow their healthcare provider’s recommendations for regular screenings. Self-Exams: Performing monthly breast self-exams allows you to become familiar with your body. This helps you notice any unusual changes, like lumps, swelling, or shifts in size or shape, that should be reported to a doctor. Above all, advocating for yourself is crucial. If something feels off, trust your instincts and push for further evaluation. At Evanta we have the honor and privilege of working with long-standing Governing Body Co-Chair Michael Smith, Global CIO for The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., and today is officially the 8th year of Tech Day in Pink.? ?? 'Inspired by The Estée Lauder Companies' (ELC) Breast Cancer Campaign, which was founded in 1993 by the late Evelyn H. Lauder, who also co-founded the Pink Ribbon, Tech Day of Pink is an initiative dedicated to mobilizing the global tech community to help create a breast cancer-free world; spearheaded by Michael. Its purpose is to unite technologists and IT professionals worldwide around breast cancer awareness, education, and fundraising.' ?? So how can you give back? An area I'm very familiar with is Patient Assistance...and Susan G. Komen is EXCELLENT at it: With Susan G. Komen's Financial Assistance Program - anyone currently in breast cancer treatments OR living with MBC that is 300% FPL can qualify?for a $400 check from Komen to help with everyday life expenses.? Last year, Komen was able to give =$11 million to assist 19,256 individuals currently battling breast cancer with our Financial Assistance Program. 98% of survey respondents reporting the assistance reduced financial burden and 97% reporting an increase in their quality of life after receiving assistance. Participants addressed their largest financial need was housing (35%) followed by transportation (29%) and utilities (25%).
