The A4i Inc team partnered with Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health to support efforts related to patient engagement and increasing access to care for patients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). Consumers were given access to A4i Inc 's mobile application, giving them an ability to engage with their peers, care team and play an active role in their care. The Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health clinicians and peer support specialists access the A4i Inc clinical portal to gain valuable insight into patient activity and progress. The model of utilizing technology and peer support specialists yielded incredible results, with 84% patient retention and average engagement of 70%. When you start building a business in healthcare, it's easy to get lost in the complexity of regulations, reimbursement models, provider adaptation challenges, etc., and forget how personal healthcare is for many providers and community members who are working to deliver care. Last week, I had a chance to listen to community members, a school counselor, and healthcare team members who are hard at work supporting youth mental health in Maine. I was moved by their commitment, emotion, and dedication to supporting our youth in their day-to-day challenges in this hyper-isolated environment. Also, our idea for "They're for Me" reminded me how new innovations in the mental health area shouldn't be ground-breaking; actually, they should be quite the opposite. They should be a rejuvenation of some old approaches, such as having meaningful connections with your trusted circle in a new format that matches this new digital era, augmented with a data-driven approach, and supported by an innovative business model that aligns all parties' interests. And yes, the check was big, and of course, our winning team ( Allyson Goida, Emily Morrow) was awesome. Really good launch of the The 'Understanding Creative Health in London' report this afternoon. The creative health sector makes a significant contribution to the capital’s health, wellbeing and supporting the reduction in health inequalities. It has deep roots and well documented positive impacts but the tiresome funding dance and lack of long term funding limits access for all Londoners. Outside Edge Theatre Company story clearly showed the challenge that income never keeping up with need. Good to hear Justine Simons OBE say this sector is no longer operating under the radar. Advocacy really matters but funding is the oxygen that makes delivery possible. Creative work in social care can support systems and processes to be more engaging and accessible, to uncover knowledge about people’s needs, build new relationships, build confidence ,support change, shift fixed narratives for service users and provide a space for exploring cultural identity. Looking forward to seeing how the Wandsworth Borough of Culture 2025 will apply the learnings from this timely report and weave them into its programme and legacy. Great to see Dr Tom Coffey from Earlsfield support for this. More anecdotally three new large murals have appeared in Wandsworth over the last three months. Public art and culture that champions local environments creates a deep sense of place and belonging. It is the most effective way of leveraging support and engagement with communities. It has a real impact, and it makes people feel good about where they live. They simply make people happy. Well done all concerned on this great piece of work.

What does trust mean to you? As I am thinking about it, I also wonder how we as in teams might be able to demonstrate that? I certainly don’t have all the answers but my mind, as of late, has been dwelling on the idea of what it means to be worthy of trust? In what I am doing, day-in and day-out, am I worthy of the trust my organization, and my leaders place in me as a manager and a leader? Am I worthy of the trust this team puts in me to keep working and striving to do the right thing for them and the right thing for our patients? When I say I will do something… do I have the integrity to do it? I like to think I do. The next iteration of that thought is how we trust one another? Can we trust our team, and it's members? To do the right thing for each other and our patients at every turn? What does your word mean to those you work with? What does your word mean to your patients? How much time do you put into thinking about who you are and what you want to be... later? I think this line of thought is necessary for us to change, and grow, into a person, team and an organization that builds trust with the community. The month of June gives us an opportunity to reflect on how trust, or the absence of it, has had real and terrible impacts on the lives of those who have been marginalized personally and by systems, and health systems, in our country. With that reflection, we can commit to doing better and showing respect for human beings and our world as a whole. How, in essence, can we be worthy of more trust for all whom depend on us for their care? Their health? The health of their loved ones? How can we be worthy of more trust with each other? For each other? “To trust someone or something takes little effort at all. Oh, but to be worthy of it! Could there be a finer life’s ambition?” ~BDG I am honored to work for an organization that asks these questions and encourages me to be more.?
