Grateful for the opportunity to give back as a team! We came together this week for a volunteer outing with Greater Chicago Food Depository, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and making a real difference in our community.

We were able to volunteer this week at the Northern Illinois Food Bank with our team from Colorado Technical University and Perdoceo Education Corporation. Excellent facility and staff helping those in need across 13 counties in Northern Illinois. We packed 6,912 lbs of protien to provide 5,760 meals.

Great to be back again serving as emcee at the 17th Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon, honoring Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Randy Bowman, Community Partners of Dallas and the Lewisville ISD. Volunteerism transforms lives! Thanks to Volunteer Now CEO, Rachel Currie Triska, for inspiring her incredible team. Americans gave 4.1 billion hours of service to humanity as volunteers last year. There's nothing more impactful than making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. As I share in my keynote address: "Live your life as a go-getter, yet, forever share your life as a go-giver."

Food pantries may distribute food, but their true purpose goes far beyond that—they exist for people. The greatest asset in any food pantry isn’t the food on the shelves, but the people who give their time, energy, and love to serve others. It’s through investing in these individuals—whether they are volunteers or those in need—that real transformation happens. When we pour into people, we build more than just sustenance; we build hope, trust, and a sense of community. The food may fill stomachs, but it’s the people who uplift spirits and change lives. By empowering those who serve and those who are served, we create a ripple effect of transformation that reaches far beyond a single meal. The true investment is in the human soul, and through that, we transform lives, one person at a time.
The heart of a food pantry isn’t just the food—it’s the people. The volunteers, the lifeblood behind every bags of groceries given, are what truly make the difference. The better the people serving, the better the impact we create. It’s not about counting how many bags of food are handed out (although we also count them); it’s about how many lives are changed.
