EarthScope’s Essential Experts: Behind the Science Meet Trisha Wright, our Contracts Associate! “I help make sure that we are meeting all of the legal requirements of our funding partners, that we are being good stewards of our resources, and that our colleagues can get answers to ‘are we allowed to do that?’ Everything from GPS site permits and international partnerships to agreements that maintain our facilities, there's a decent chance I have tossed some glitter on it.” As part of EarthScope’s Contracts and Compliance team, Trisha reviews contracts for large procurements, drafts policies, and now serves as administrator for awards and subawards. Her work helps ensure EarthScope’s research and operations run smoothly within legal and financial guidelines. “Since I'm about to pass my 1 year mark with EarthScope, what I enjoy most about my job are my colleagues and mentors. It's been truly enjoyable to build these new relationships and be supported while my role has expanded. If I can do nothing else, I am here to be a sounding board and get someone to smile before we say ‘goodbye.’” Before EarthScope, Trisha worked in litigation practice handling all kinds of cases, so chances are she has a weird story to go with just about any topic of conversation. She also loves a good dad joke but admits she’s terrible at remembering them or telling them in the right order. ----------- From logistics to administration, contracts to financials, a dedicated team of experts keeps everything running at EarthScope. This March, we’re spotlighting the women behind the scenes who make geophysical research possible—sharing their work, their impact, and what they love about supporting science.
