How to guarantee you’ll never hire any decent machine vision talent. Step 1: Post the most confusing job description possible ???? Make it long, convoluted, and filled with jargon. The more incomprehensible, the better! If candidates can’t even understand the role, you’re off to a great start. Step 2: Offer ridiculously low pay ?? Why pay a fair salary when you can lowball talented engineers? Sure, they’ll run for the hills, but that’s the goal, right? Who needs skilled workers when you can hire someone “good with computers” for peanuts? Step 3: Set impossible job requirements ?? Demand 15 years of experience with technology that’s only existed for 5. That’ll scare off even the most ambitious applicants. Bonus points if you ask for expertise in completely unrelated fields. Thankfully, at Zebra, we don't do that. If you're looking for a new challenge, we've got three awesome opportunities: German Solution Engineer https://lnkd.in/evBftcwV French Solution Engineer https://lnkd.in/et_377QG The third hasn't even been posted yet, but I can say this ... If you have technical or sales experience in machine vision and are looking for a new challenge, give me a shout. Japanese company Serendix is making waves with their 3D-printed tiny home, the Sphere. At just 10m2, this compact yet versatile structure was completed in under 24 hours for $25,500. Despite its size, the Sphere meets Japanese earthquake and European insulation standards, proving its durability and efficiency. The Sphere's design offers multiple uses, from emergency housing to vacation cabins or hotel rooms. Serendix is steering clear of dense urban areas, focusing instead on small towns with more available land, tapping into the post-pandemic remote work trend. "In the automotive industry 40 years ago, the price reduction of products began due to innovation of the manufacturing process using robots. We believe that the 3D-printed house is the beginning of complete robotization of the housing industry." kunihiro handa #3DPrinting #Construction #Innovation #Architecture #Sustainability https://serendix.com/1-1

"Its better to have a hole than an a$$hole" - Kim Scott Its not easy finding people for the metal recycling industry. Its even harder finding GREAT people to join the industry. I've often found myself having to fill an urgent role. And made the mistake of hiring the wrong person. Just because of the pressure to get it done. I can tell you first hand, the wrong hire. Is a culture and company killer. Take your time hiring. Get the right person. Not just any person. #MetalRecycling #Culture #Hiring

This picture, recently unearthed from the archives, offers a glimpse into the early 2000s at Cloward H2O, a period when the company was steadily evolving its processes and vision. The image captures a moment when Corry (President/Principal), Damon (Associate Principal, Sr. Engineer), Greg (retired President), and Tim (Associate Principal, Sr. Designer) gathered around a table, deeply engaged in reviewing project drawings. At that time, much of the design work was handled by just a handful of key employees. Fast forward to today, and Cloward H2O has experienced a dramatic transformation. The small team of the early 2000s has grown substantially, enabling the company to handle a much larger amount of work than before. This growth has been powered by the adoption of new technology, advanced software, and the expansion of the industry. Processes have been streamlined through digital drawing platforms, real-time data sharing, and virtual collaboration. The shift to a more digital landscape has revolutionized how projects are executed, allowing for greater efficiency, precision, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with partners and clients worldwide. Despite these advancements, one key aspect remains unchanged: the importance of teamwork and in-depth project reviews. The collaborative spirit captured in this photograph, with the team huddled over project drawings, continues to be a cornerstone of Cloward H2O’s approach. Quality control and training are still deeply rooted in face-to-face interactions, ensuring that the expertise and attention to detail that shaped the company’s early success remain at the forefront. We strive to keep an in-person working environment which allows for questions to be answered quickly, training on a daily and personal basis, and relationships to build organically. As Cloward H2O looks to the future, the firm continues to innovate, building on the foundation laid during those early days and constantly pushing the boundaries of aquatic design and engineering. #team #engineering #aquatic #water #growth #aquariums #waterparks #fountains #pools #waterfalls #recreationalaquatics
