Amazon has launched its new discount store, Amazon Haul, with *everything under $20*. I think it may be a big mistake ?? It appears to be there to take on Temu, Shein & TikTop shop - and is quite a big move in my eyes, shifting away from a focus on speedy delivery & customer service and introducing a FURTHER race to the bottom on pricing. I've seen the devastating impact of Amazon's pricing on my own businesses and many brands we've worked with. But this move feels kind of sad but inevitable. Amazon developed a monopoly over decades of brand building and loss-making - and now the 'everything store' really is that. Independent brands just cannot compete on price - and neither should they. My take - I think this could actually help independent brands in the long run. This further puts Amazon into the bracket of Temu and 'tat' you bought from TikTok shop. It will further associate them with 'things you don't actually need'. Whilst that part of the market has a place in the world - most people I know are leaning the other way. ??Buying less, but buying better. So here's to that. #amazonhaul #tiktokshop #fastfashion
