TBF, a streak of that length shows commitment and dedication to a task. Can't ask for a better tell than that.
Doesn't this precisely reflect Duolingo's problem? Having studied a language for almost 2 years, the candidate was not able to describe their level of proficiency.
People like this candidate make this world a better place, imho.
I'm a software engineer and a former academic (Ph.D.) and government linguist. On my resume I always list my programming languages (of course), and also my human languages, since many talented software engineers come from other countries, or live and work in other countries, being able to communicate more easily with them has been a boon to me and my employers during my career. Programming languages: Java, ReactJS / JavaScript, Docker, R, SQL, Ruby on Rails, Python (a bit). Human languages: English (native), Russian (fluent), Polish (functional), Spanish (functional, almost 1800 day streak on Duo!!!), Czech (a bit), Bulgarian (a bit), French (a bit). Duo, I'd love to work for ya'll, if you'd ever let me work remotely (sorry Pittsburgh is too cold, I wither in that kind of weather).
I have thought of it, but the strike rises every day so it would be inaccurate. Nonetheless, I would be more than happy to put on a badge for my 700 day streak.
