Dunaway’s own, Mark Merryman, PE, LEED AP, and Francisco Cuevas, PE, were thrilled to attend the groundbreaking of the new ‘Forever Lab’ at East Village, which will be the start of a new life science campus. BillionToOne, a molecular diagnostics company that develops DNA-based tests to detect health problems, is slated to occupy the first phase of the development and will have the capacity to process up to six million tests annually, further revolutionizing molecular diagnostics in the fields of prenatal and oncology care. Dunaway partnered with Tarlton Properties, STG Design, and White Construction to provide #structural engineering services on the new campus. The "Forever Lab" is a 3-story concrete tilt wall building with approximately 220,000 GSF of program space, a two-story storage warehouse, a loading dock, wet and dry labs throughout the program space, and six air exchanges per hour HVAC requirements. The elevated levels are designed to have a higher live load and a prescribed vibrational rating to meet the requirements of BillionToOne. We look forward to watching the progress as this exciting project begins construction!

Dunaway is pleased to announce Kevin McCleary as the newest addition to our Houston team. Kevin joins Dunaway as a Senior Discipline Lead in Dunaway's #structural department, bringing over 20 years of expertise specializing in multi-family, hospitality, mixed-use, retail, corporate office, industrial, and automotive projects. Dunaway was honored to be a part of Cristo Rey Fort Worth High School’s corporate work-study draft day! This marks our third draft day at Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep, and we are thrilled to have drafted several brilliant minds to work with us throughout this next year. Through Cristo Rey’s work-study model, local businesses cover about 50% of the tuition to the school through a sponsorship of students they select to work for them once a week throughout the school year – providing the students an opportunity to earn their tuition while gaining real-life experience. We look forward to supporting these students and watching their continued growth!

Dunaway started as a surveying firm in 1956. Over the past 68 years, we have surveyed several hundreds of miles of Texas Department of Transportation, county, and municipal roadway throughout Texas. As a multi-discipline firm, we are proud to continue Dunaway’s legacy of excellence and innovation in #surveying with the addition of Davey Edwards, PhD PLS LSLS CFedS as the newest member of our North Texas team. Individuals from Dunaway's San Antonio office were thrilled to celebrate the groundbreaking of Four25 San Pedro Apartments yesterday, alongside the City of San Antonio, Franklin Development Company, and the San Antonio Housing Trust. Dunaway partnered with Alamo Architects to provide #structural engineering services on Four25 San Pedro Apartments. Located in the City of San Antonio, this multi-family complex is the final affordable housing project supported by the 2017 Neighborhoods Improvements Bond. The complex will have 80 homes available to rent, 25 of which will be Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), which provides homes to individuals or families who have experienced homelessness for a year or more. We're excited to see the progress made as this impactful project continues!
