So you want to switch from clinical medicine I'm listing down the pre-requisites. Save them for future reference. 1) Where to? Consulting? Pharma? Health-tech startups? Public health? Tech ( Yes it's possible!) Data science? Cybersecurity (Yes that too is possible!) Marketing? Finance? Think about it. 2) Reach out to people who are already in the #jobs you wanna be in 4) Read up on the #industry, the major players, deals, pipelines, mergers and acquisitions, future #growth areas. 3) These are the jobs you can apply to. So make a note for current and future openings. 4) Prepare a CV and a cover letter accordingly. The cover letter should mention why you are the right candidate, why that role and why the #company? 5) Apply, apply, apply and be patient. If you can score referrals, nothing like it. More on every pointer in the upcoming posts.

Qualified? Not Qualified? Who gets to decide? Think about it: If a doctor applied for a job as a pharmaceutical rep, they'd be labeled NOT Qualified. They’ve never sold pharmaceuticals or managed a territory. If a #1-ranked tech sales executive applied for a sales job in a different industry, they’d be called NOT Qualified. No degree, no shot. If a former college professor with a PhD applied for an office manager role, they'd be passed over. “Too qualified” or “not the right kind of experience.” Does this make sense to you? It doesn’t to me. This is what’s happening in hiring today. We’ve replaced common sense and human insight with: AI systems. Automated tests. Rigid checklists. Human interaction? Outdated. Instinct? Irrelevant. Common sense? Ancient history. Here’s my approach: If someone with a PhD applies for a job at my company, I tell my HR team one thing: “Get them on the phone.” I don’t care if they’ve never written a resume or managed an office. Because you never know. We need to stop eliminating incredible candidates based on outdated rules. Your next star employee might just be a former heart surgeon who happens to excel at selling aspirin. Let’s bring objectivity and human connection back to hiring. What do you think? Would you give someone “unqualified” a chance? #ResumeWriting #JobSearch #CommonSenseHiring #resumereview P.S. Need help with your resume? DM me for a free review—no strings attached.

I recently had a hiring manager tell me that she's received 250 applicants for a role she's hiring for, and only two were relevant! ???? *** That's not to say the 248 other applicants weren't good; they just didn't have the relevant skillsets necessary to fulfill the role. *** Biotech is such a specialized industry, and I'm 99% certain that hiring managers cannot devote the time it takes to source and identify the right candidates. That's why having recruiters you trust is so important. My goal here at EPM Scientific is to make sure my clients have the time to focus on their core mission - advancing scientific research and development - while ensuring they have the right talent to drive innovation and success. I'm scheduling calls with prospective and existing clients to discuss their 2025 plans. Please reach out directly if you feel the same way this hiring manager feels! ?? What’s the biggest hiring mistake you’ve seen in clinical research? Is it the failure to act quickly on top candidates? Not defining roles clearly enough before the search begins? Or something else entirely? What other hiring pitfalls have you encountered in the field? #LifeSciences #HiringMistakes #LessonsLearned

I've curated a list of companies that frequently hire in the market research and patent consulting domain. I would advise all college graduates and postgraduates to follow these companies on LinkedIn for the latest updates and to keep an eye out for relevant job openings. Leverage Your Alumni Network- When applying to any company, try to figure out if any of your alumni are working there. If so, reach out to them and seek their referral. Referrals can play a crucial role in your placement journey. Building a relevant network on LinkedIn can surely help you grow and open doors to new opportunities. #jobs #jobseekers #patents #consulting #businessanalytics #corporate #placement #engineering #engineer #biotech #pharma #biomedical #healthcare #marketresearch #analytics #guidance #mentoring #ipr #sales #research #analyst #consultant

Want to know why you can’t seem to hire your ideal candidate after months of trying? Well.... - Do you think you could discover a new drug without discovery scientists? - Reckon you could sell your product/service without a sales team? - How about managing the company finances without the Finance function? - Grow an audience without marketing? Yep. Same thing for hiring rare talent. Especially in Biotech. You need a recruitment expert. We are quite literally professionals at finding and placing talent into roles that are hard to fill, into businesses just like yours. #recruitment #biotechjobs #pharmajobs #drugdevelopment #drugdiscovery

Qualified? Not Qualified? Who really decides? If a Doctor applied for a job as a Pharma Rep, they’d be considered NOT Qualified. They never sold pharmaceuticals and don’t have territory management experience. If a #1 ranked Technology Sales Executive applied for a job in sales in different industry, they’d be considered NOT Qualified. They don’t have a degree. If a former College Professor with a PhD applied for a job as an Office Manager, they’d be passed over. They’ve never managed an office. They’d be considered NOT Qualified or Over Qualified, and not get hired. Do you see how ridiculous this sounds? This is what’s happening in hiring. Every last shred of common sense, objectivity, decision making and personal insight has been eradicated from hiring. We’ve come to a place where AI, ATS and subjective skills tests have taken over. More than human interaction. More than human instinct. More than common sense. If someone with a PhD applies for a job at my company, I tell my HR guru, “get them on the phone!” I don’t care if they have resume writing or HR experience. I’m no dummy. We’ve reached a point where common sense took a vacation, and objectivity packed its bags and left town. Human interaction? Pfft. Instinct? Who needs it! Common sense? That’s so last century. So please, for the love of all that is sane, stop eliminating candidates based on these nonsensical rules. Don’t be a dummy. Your next star employee might just be a former heart surgeon who’s really good at selling aspirin. #ResumeWriting #JobSearch #DontBeADummy
