?? A few days ago, I had the opportunity to make a presentation to the WA4STEAM Business Angels Association about the Blue Economy. I underlined its main sectors, key players (both national and international), and the emerging innovation trends driving growth across the industry. ?? In this session, I explored the most promising investment opportunities, especially in blue biotechnology and marine renewable energy. My focus was on innovation and investment, where I highlighted the latest trends, spotlighted the most innovative sectors and companies (marine renewable energy, blue biotechnologies, sustainable aquaculture, ocean observation, marine robotics and desalinisation), and reviewed the top investment funds making an impact in the Blue Economy (VC, BA, PE...). We discussed where these funds are allocating their resources (primarily in M&A and early-stage investments) and the reason for that kind of allocation and it possibilities. Funds like Katapult Ocean, PortXL, Norrsken VC, BlueBioValue, B2E Blue Bioeconomy CoLAB and Faber portfolio and investments patterns where evaluated. ?? Additionally, we broke down insights from critical industry reports like the Blue Economy Report and the Blue Invest Investors Report, offering a detailed and critical view of what’s driving this exciting sector forward.
