Rape is not just a personal tragedy—it carries a devastating economic toll. The CDC estimates that the lifetime economic burden of rape per victim in the U.S. is $122,461, including medical costs, lost productivity, and mental health care expenses. For many survivors, this burden adds to the trauma they already endure. At Silverleaf, we believe no one should face these challenges alone—or worry about the cost of getting help. That’s why all our services are provided completely free of charge to survivors and their families. From therapy sessions to advocacy, we’re here to support survivors every step of the way. But we can’t do this without your help. Your donation makes it possible for us to continue providing life-changing services to those who need them most. ?? Together, we can lighten the load for survivors and help them heal. ?? Donate today at silverleafky.org/donate #SupportSurvivors #HealingTogether #DonateForChange

Eight-year-old Jason has been on our waiting list since March, suffering from sleeplessness, headaches, and school refusal. After a work restructure, his mum is struggling to find a new school-friendly job which, combined with a 30% rent increase and other rising living costs, is causing family strain. The family is forced to consider moving, which Jason dreads due to fear of losing his school and friends. He repeatedly asks his dad, "Are we poor?" Their GP suggested Jason's symptoms were anxiety-related and recommended Expressive Therapy with us. With 45 other children on our wait list, Jason's case highlights the urgent need for assistance to prevent these issues from becoming lifelong problems.?Consider making an EOFY tax-deductible donation to help us get more children like Jason into therapy sooner. bit.ly/KidsXpress_EOFY2024

With 1 in 4 pregnancies ending in loss and four babies stillborn each week in Scotland, the need for our services is profound. While we cannot prevent the death of a baby, with your support, we can ensure that no one must walk alone after such a heartbreaking loss. Compassionate bereavement support should be accessible to all, without financial or time constraint. Will you donate £4 and consider setting up a regular giving amount to ensure we can continue supporting families through baby loss, whenever they need us and for as long as they need us. Text FOUR to 70460 to donate £4. Nominate 4 by sharing this post and tagging 4 people #TogetherWeCare #Give4BLAW24 Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message, and you’ll be opting into hearing more from us. If you would like to donate but don’t wish to hear more from us, please text FOURNOINFO instead. Held In Our Hearts baby loss counselling and support services are a lifeline for grieving families; providing a Hospital Home service, counselling, peer support, community support and resources to help families cope with their loss. However, these services rely heavily on charitable donations and diminishing grant funding, despite the growing need for them. By raising awareness and funds during Baby Loss Awareness Week, we can help ensure that these services remain free and are available to all who need them, for as long as they need them. By donating £4 and sharing this post you are standing with families during their most challenging times, ensuring they receive the care and compassion they deserve. #BLAW24 #BLAW #togetherwecare #babylossawarenessweek #pregnancyloss #babyloss #babylosscounselling #babylosssupport

Suicide Prevention Walk- in Honor of my Shaun Dear friends and family, This year, I will be participating in the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk, to honor the memory of my son, Shaun. I’ll be wearing white beads, symbolizing the loss of a child, a pain I live with every day. Shaun was brilliant, kind, and filled with potential, but like so many, he struggled with deep, unseen battles. Before he passed, he opened up to me about how I could have been a different parent—about the things I might have done to help ease his depression and prevent the darkness that overshadowed him from such a young age. His words left a profound impact on me, and I carry them with me as I walk. I’m walking not only to honor Shaun, but to share our story in hopes that it will help other parents and children who may be in a similar place. My goal is to raise awareness about childhood depression, to reflect on how we, as parents, can better support our children, and to ensure that no family has to endure the kind of loss we have. I humbly ask for your support—whether you can join me in the walk, sponsor my participation, or simply share our message. Your donation will help me continue sharing Shaun’s story, raising awareness, and contributing to the fight against suicide. My goal is to raise $50,000 If you would like to support, please visit my page here: Here is the link to use and share for donations. You can also register as a walker off this page. just click on Join Our Team. https://lnkd.in/g-vqrqpd Together, we can make a difference in memory of Shaun and so many others. Love you all!!! #OutOfTheDarkness #AFSP #StopSuicide #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthAwareness #BeTheVoice #EndSuicide #HopeForTomorrow #ShareYourStory

As we prepare to enter our 25th year of supporting kids and families impacted by grief or addiction, we know we still have much work to do. If you haven’t yet made your year-end gift to support our mission, you have until midnight to ensure your donation—and your lifechanging impact—is doubled by two matching gifts: https://lnkd.in/esKASQuD We look forward to continuing to offer vital programs across our national network and through direct online and personalized support; expanding into new locations to address areas of need; and launching new programming such as caring for families grieving a death from overdose. #addictionprevention #griefsupport #mentalhealthresources #nonprofit

OUT OF THE DARKNESS: Walking Together for Suicide Prevention *** We will match the first $500 in donations *** Friends, I’m reaching out today to share something deeply personal and important. This year, my family and I are taking part in the Out of the Darkness Community Walk with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We are walking with a Team organized by Sam Sheeder to raise awareness and much-needed funds for suicide prevention, an issue that has touched us personally, as I know it has for so many others. Mental health struggles and suicide are often difficult to talk about, but they shouldn't be. It’s time we normalize these conversations—because mental health is just as important as physical health. By opening up, we can break the silence that surrounds these issues, offer support, and remind each other that none of us has to face this battle alone. I’m asking for your help, not just to honor those we've lost, but to provide hope for those who are still struggling. Your donation, no matter the size, will support AFSP's mission to fund research, create educational programs, and advocate for policies that save lives. Together, we can create a culture that prioritizes mental health and supports those in need. Please consider donating to our team’s fundraising efforts. Every contribution brings us one step closer to a world where talking about mental health is the norm, and where everyone has the support they need. Thank you. https://lnkd.in/eQfDbQQ8

May is mental health awareness month and I want to highlight some of the excellent work that is being done at the Children's Mental Health Resource Center (CMHRC). CMHRC offers diagnostic consultations to families. The diagnostic process can be a confusing one for parents and caregivers. Insurance, DSM, and ICD-10 codes often dictate what diagnosis a child will be labeled with and parents don’t always get a complete explanation of why that diagnosis was given. Many families have difficulty accessing assessments for their children because of waiting lists for qualified providers or because of insurmountable geographic or financial obstacles. CMHRC works with families and healthcare providers to provide straightforward information designed to facilitate access to accurate diagnosing and effective treatment -- all of which can be lifechanging to the child and parents. If you're feeling generous this month, consider making a donation to CMHRC. I serve on the board of this fantastic org and support their work with a monthly donation. https://lnkd.in/gz58MuZq
