We are enormously proud of all the hard-working young musicians who come to work with us at The Philadelphia International Music Camp & Festival, and look for opportunities to get their hard work and dedication the recognition it deserves. Our press outreach is encouraging and an adjunct to the resumes they're building -- sometimes very early! Thanks to WABC-TV/NY for the wonderful story about Ria, who has been with us since age 5 and is one of two PIMF students who took First Place in their divisions at the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition. https://lnkd.in/eaYuPtSQ

A team of international researchers analyzed Beethoven’s DNA to see how much of the composer’s musical genius was, well, in his genes. They found that Beethoven was really low in beat synchronization - staying on the beat - which is closely linked to musical talent. They sequenced his DNA and assigned it a genetic score for musicality to compare it with modern-day population data. Beethoven's score put him near the bottom (!!!) #music #musicnews #genetics #DNA #classicalmusic #composer #science https://lnkd.in/gUQ6tNC5

Our winter break Music in the Mansion program was once again a sold-out adjunct to our summer intensive classical music training camp and festival. We were able to expand beyond cello and violin this year to include viola and double bass. Keeping the “I” in The Philadelphia International Music Festival, we had students join us in Florida from England and Bulgaria! #music?#musiceducation?#musicnews?#classicalmusic?#youthorchestra?#musiclessons?#performancetraining

"The benefits of music therapy can be profound – but, too often, the average person or even healthcare providers and insurance companies do not fully comprehend what it is," states Tracey Burnett, CMF executive director. "Music therapy not only treats children at the time that they're in need, but also provides them coping skills to deal with chronic illness or complex medical issues for the rest of their lives. It's not just playing an instrument. It's a collaborative, creative and therapeutic experience." #music #musictherapy #advertising #insurance #medicalinsurance #healthinsurance #collaboration https://lnkd.in/gxZDnGAB
