Finding the Right Balance between Family Time and Work Life.. is THE most dynamic and crucial management skill in the world. All skills should be used towards the attaining the goal of having a Balanced, Peaceful and Meaningful Life. Hence, I have found it imperative that we work where we find passion and recognition.. because neither Family Time nor Work Life, deserve to be compromised for each other. Also it is important to work for a company that allows you to create this balance. It has taken me 12 years to reach this conclusion, and also reach this balance. I pray the same for everyone ?. Wishing You all The Perfect Balance! #utdmotors #worklife #familytime #balance

How’s your work/life balance? That can be a bit of a loaded question, for solopreneurs and busy teams. If the answer is ‘Yep, it’s fine, loads of life stuff going on’ it could trigger a bit of an existential WHY ISN’T MY BUSINESS BUSIER panic. On the other hand, if you’re so busy that 8 hours sleep is a distant memory and you’re starting to resent sitting down at your desk every morning, knowing that you’re unlikely to leave it again for hours and hours, answering that question could be that thing that tips you over the edge and sees you sat on the floor, making paper aeroplanes out of those invoices you’re meant to be processing. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. If you’re at the end of your rope, handing things over to a VA might seem like just another task on an unending list, something else to think about at 3am whilst you’re awake worrying. If you’re pretty well balanced, you might think you’ve got such a great handle on things that you don’t need to bring in external support. But think about all those things you hate doing, those little time-sucking tasks that need to be done to keep your business running… the things that keep you working IN your business rather than ON your business. Either way, working with VAA is going to make your life easier. Get in touch today to see how we can help you.?

Think of your work-life balance as a collection of rubber bands. Some aspects, like urgent work emails, require immediate stretching of your time and energy, while others, like personal hobbies, may feel loose and neglected. The key is to balance the tension across all your life's rubber bands. Overstretching your work commitments can lead to burnout, while leaving personal growth loose may result in unfulfillment. Strive for that perfect, productive tension between your 9 to 5 job and your personal aspirations.

I was chatting with someone the other day about how we all handle load in different ways. There is the load that comes with careers, the load as a parent, the load as a friend, the load as a spouse… each load with its own weight and expectations. The conversation inevitably led to work-life balance and the need to separate or compartmentalise the time that is devoted to each role. Is it really a work life balance though? If placed on a scale, is the load I carry as a wife equal to the load I carry as a mother? Do those two factors combined carry the same load as that of my job? I don’t think we can quantify it with such simplicity. Perhaps it is more free flowing than that. A work life fluidity where each phase comes, gains your focus and then passes. Just like waves that move in a constant unbroken state don't you think? . #worklife #balance #family #career

You hear all sorts of tripe about work life balance and healthy balance, but jobs that actually pay enough money to live the way people actually want to live tend to require longer hours, and tend to be more stressful. There are jobs that prioritze ease, but they don't tend to pay enough to live at an acceptable level, unless you're pre-selected to enjoy a plum patronage job, with the rest of the "real Canadians," if you're in Canada. So on the weekends you may need to take time to sleep in and relax, rather than hit the clubs sometimes, which tend to be full of the patronage types, who tend to use hard drugs and aggressively pursue private encounters with intoxicated people who have a hard time fighting back, to compensate for not actually working or ever being put to the test, because the rest of us don't always get enough time to prioritize sleep and rest during the week, so the patronage types can continue to live large and not have to work. But even if you're working a long day, you can still employ strategies to find a balance. Maybe alternate between tasks that require intense effort and concentration and more routine, mundane tasks, that allow you to tune out for a bit? Maybe actually use you full lunch break and eat lunch away from your desk, so you get a mini vacation? If the office is passing out cake, have some cake and talk to your colleagues, about how good the cake is, if you can't think of anything else to talk about? If you had a difficult meeting, maybe take a walk to give yourself a chance to decompress? Maybe take some (non-invasive) interest in other people at the office, including your supervisors? You might find people are a lot less harsh and unforgiving when you have some kind of personal connection with them, even if all you have is a shared love of chicken curry? Attitude is very important. And so are interpersonal relationships. Even in getting a good job in the first place. Assessments tend to go your way more often if people don't find you objectionable. Mind you, I'm also rationalizing the fact I don't have the same blow-people-away academic background as many of the sort of people I've worked with and hope to work with. But there still probably is some truth to what I'm saying. There are different forms of intelligence, and different types of strengths.

Empathy in the current scenario In the past few days, much of the news has been centered around the deaths of employees due to excessive work pressure. Being in the corporate sector for quite a long time now, I feel that job related stress is very common in the current job scenario. Each one of us is a part of a rat race(myself including) where we want to grow in our respective careers at a rapid pace. There is nothing wrong in the mentality of growth as well as it is a sign of positive mindset. However, one should also be wary of what amount of pressure one can handle against the money that is being offered. You may get a job offer which offers you a 100% hike but where the work life balance is zero. On the other hand, you may get an offer where the hike is only 25% but which offers a great amount of work life balance. Nowadays people are preferring the former and when they are not able to handle the pressure, they are taking the wrong steps which necessarily means trouble and grief for the family. So what can we do to turn things around? Firstly, a bit of empathy has to be exercised in the work place by everyone. If you feel one is overly stressed, try to help the person to the best of your abilities. Try to cheer the mood of that person if you can't help him or her otherwise. A little empathy in this regard will go a long way. May be, we will have a system to support the over pressured employees as well. Regardless we can be the support to each other in the meantime. Next time when a colleague of yours is experiencing stress, try to do that and you will not only reduce his stress but also be happy to be a positive change in some manner. Hoping for better empathetic work Environments.

Yesterday, someone mentioned something to me that really resonated: How many funerals have you been to where their work was a topic of conversation? Usually, friends and family share stories and memories, but never work. Which is SO SAD as we spend the majority of our lives at work. Now, this can be taken in different ways. 1. Put your all into your work, making sure you leave such a significant mark that you're not just a number, but a valued person who would be greatly missed. Make your contributions so meaningful that they become part of your legacy! 2. Realise that your job isn’t your entire life. Make sure it's a role you thoroughly enjoy and one that offers work life balance. This way, you’re not stretching yourself thin and can devote time to the things you love ?? Whichever path you choose, remember that time is limited. If you're not completely content in your role, maybe it's time to make a change?
