??? A Rainy Start Couldn't Stop Us! ????
"It was a hefty day of gardening, landscaping, and planting trees to help the local bee population. It was fun to meet everybody and work as a team on a field instead of a desk—despite the blisters, rain, and thorns." - Amira F., Consumer Insights Lead at Kline + Company
Despite a rainy start in Romney Marsh, our enthusiastic London team gathered for a day dedicated to enhancing pollinator habitats. This marked our *fourth* year collaborating with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, and we were thrilled to spot the rare Ruderal Bumblebee (Bombus ruderatus) at previous project sites. Even more exciting, we ventured to a new location where we witnessed another rare species, the Shrill Carder Bumblebee (Bombus sylvarum), making its first appearance in 12 years! ??? Our 2024 event may have started as the wettest one yet, but it didn’t dampen our spirits! ?? Armed with mowers, rakes, brushcutters, and a whole lot of teamwork, we partnered with Bumblebee Conservation Trust staff (shoutout to Alexander Hodges and Jess Holdway) to clear weeds, plant pollinator-friendly species, and transform the site right before our eyes.
As the weather cleared, we enjoyed sandwiches, tea, coffee, and Kentish treats while sharing knowledge from all corners of our business. The best part? Scattering seeds across the land, paving the way for a bountiful spring when queen bumblebees emerge.
Here’s to teamwork, nature, and the small wins that make a big difference. #Pollinators #BumblebeeConservation #Teamwork #Sustainability #BBCT #KlineLife
